Fall
“I’m not interested in becoming a soldier.”
“Should I kill your whole family, then? Maybe that’ll make you listen.”
Last night, he went out to earn some spare cash—and ran straight into the same lunatic killer who now, in a clean military uniform, introduces himself as Captain Kim Hayoon and hands over enlistment papers.
He thought he was being silenced. Instead, the madman was recruiting him.
“If you just follow orders, your entire family can live in comfort.”
His instincts screamed danger. This man was a threat—but the desperate grind of daily poverty made Kim Hayoon’s offer difficult to resist.
As a mixed-blood from Zone B, military life was hell from day one. Nothing came easy, and every moment felt like survival.
At first, he just wanted to get kicked out and go home. But thinking of his smiling younger siblings, and his adoptive father who had just survived a critical heart surgery, he began to understand what he had to do.
Kim Hayoon had given him more than he ever dared hope for. And so, he began to wonder—out of all the people in the world, why me?
But he couldn’t forget—
“Nothing in this world is free.”
Character Intro
🂡 Gong (Top)
🂡 Kim Hayoon
A Captain in the Special Forces.
His clean, pale skin, jet-black hair, and piercingly dark eyes make him the perfect image of a cold-blooded beauty. But his personality is said to be nowhere near as elegant—he’s ruthless to the core.
Despite his rank, his father holds absolute power over Zone A, making Kim Hayoon untouchable.
While carrying out a massacre in Zone B, he encounters Ire—and recruits him on the spot with an ambiguous “love call.”
After enlistment, he showers Ire with special treatment and relentless attention… But no one, not even Ire, truly knows what it is about him that Hayoon finds so captivating.
🂡 Shou (Bottom)
🂡 Ire (Mikael)
A hybrid born from an infected host.
He has pale white skin, uniquely colored eyes—a mix of gray and blue—and striking silver hair that seems to glow.
Raised in Zone B by Mateo, who took him in at birth, Ire helps care for his younger siblings.
His life takes a sharp turn when he catches the eye of Kim Hayoon and is persuaded to enlist in the military with promises of curing Mateo’s illness and providing for his family.
Though burdened by the label “Zone B half-blood,” he quietly adapts to the military system—driven by his desire to protect those he loves.
