Even Screams Have a Scale
Remington Howard. This is a story about him. To some, he is called “Howard,” and to others, he is affectionately known as “Remy” or “Rem.” But to me, he is simply Remington, just Remington. Liking him is an old matter.
“Dani, betray your father for me.”
There is a love that becomes a sin. My love was such.
“My poor daughter. The only one who will never abandon you is me.”
My beautiful and omnipotent father. My great and magnificent creator. That is my sin. The sin of serving two masters.
“Plunge a knife into your father’s heart and crawl back to my feet.”
You, who wants to kill me yet can never bring yourself to do it, pitiful you.
“And while saying you love me, cry, beg, and cling. It felt good. Every time you looked at me desperately.”
“…You’re insane.”
“Is it still too difficult a command?”
If I truly resolved to die, you would hang yourself before me. Do you know? That contradiction was my only lifeline.
“I want you to keep looking at me with that face.”
“…Don’t delude yourself. Right now, I’m horrified by you.”
“That’s exactly what I want.”
“…….”
“Keep being horrified. By my side.”
This will be a testimony. A memoir containing my life, my sins, my love, my failures, and my victories.
