Ihan Needs to Have a Child

Ihan’s return date was being delayed. This was not a good sign. Ihan’s obsession with Soo-ah was immense. After being apart for this long, one would expect him to come running, yet there had been no news.

Even after saying he wanted a divorce, he still seemed to be with Jang Yoon-ha.

When they finally managed to speak on the phone a few days ago, he said he was in New York. New York was where Yoon-ha was.

“What should I do? If things keep going this way and they end up having a child, it’ll be a disaster.”

Feeling anxious, Bo-kyung stood up again. She had to go to New York immediately. She grabbed her bag, intending to pack, but then changed her mind. Going alone wouldn’t solve anything.

Should she take Soo-ah with her? If Ihan saw her, maybe he would change his mind. But Ihan had already locked Soo-ah up using gangsters.

“Soo-ah needs to have Ihan’s child first.”

That was the only thought in her mind. For Bo-kyung, not living in luxury was no different from being dead. She had only ever enjoyed the finest things—food, clothing, and places to live—and she couldn’t give up that life.

If Ihan abandoned Soo-ah, she would lose everything.

    Right now, she had nothing.

She had long since sold her small apartment and spent the money here and there, and the only thing keeping her attached to Min Ihan was using Soo-ah as an excuse. But even that felt unstable now.

It was all Moon Soo-ah’s fault. She was stiff as a board, wearing loose jeans and T-shirts. She never wore makeup, had no charm, and always kept her distance from Ihan. Because of that, Ihan became even more obsessed with Soo-ah, but who knew how long that would last?

A child was necessary. If Ihan’s seed was in her womb, he would never be able to cast them aside. And if she used that child to secure a hefty sum? The rest of her life would be pure bliss.

But. Ihan still hadn’t made contact. Whenever he returned, he always called her first to invite her to a meal with Soo-ah.  Unable to contain her impatience any longer, Bo-kyung picked up the phone.

As she pressed the call button, the dial tone rang.

    Rrrr. Rrrr.

She waited for a long time, and just as she was about to hang up, Ihan’s voice came through.

    “He… Hello.”

His voice was different from usual, which worried Bo-kyung.

“Ihan, I was waiting for you to come back and got worried, so I called. Soo-ah is going crazy missing you. She keeps asking me when you’ll be back. Weren’t you supposed to be in LA buying a villa? Why are you in New York?”

Her anxiety made her ramble on.

“I’m busy. I have to go.”

“Soo-ah talks about you a lot, you know? She says she wants to quit art. Once she graduates, her dream is to get married and have kids. She keeps telling me that, so I was thinking—”

“Who is it? Is it an urgent call?”

    A woman’s voice interrupted.

“Ihan, who’s calling at this hour? How rude.”

“I thought it was a call about investment funds.”

Ihan’s voice held a note of embarrassment.

    “So, who is it?”

The woman’s voice grew closer, as if she had grabbed the phone.

“What’s this? Kim Bo-kyung? This number belongs to that woman, right? The one Chairman Min was briefly involved with.”

Only then did Bo-kyung realize who she was.

    It was Jang Yoon-ha.

“Ihan. Are you listening? You were with Yoon-ha?”

Bo-kyung spoke, but there was no response from Ihan, only the conversation between the two.

“Yes, it’s Kim Bo-kyung. I happened to answer the call.”

“Ihan, my father said he would take care of the money. Once we have a child, we won’t even have to pay it back. So don’t worry about money, and stop answering calls like this. She’s not someone who can help you. It’s time to cut ties.”

A child? Cut ties? Bo-kyung’s eyes widened in shock.

“Yoon-ha, I got it. Let me speak to her directly. Give me the phone.”

    Ihan’s voice came closer.

“I only kept in touch out of respect for my late father. But Yoon-ha is right. I won’t be helping you anymore. Don’t contact me again.”

“Ihan. Why are you doing this? That’s too cruel. Are we really the kind of people who can just cut ties so easily? What about Soo-ah? What will happen to Soo-ah?”

Bo-kyung shouted, but the call had already ended.

    “Ihan! Min Ihan!”

She called again, but all she heard was the message saying the phone was turned off.

“No. No, this can’t be happening!”

Bo-kyung let out a desperate scream, overcome with despair.

    ***

While Ihan was turning off his phone, Yoon-ha pouted and grumbled.

“Ihan, did you forget what my dad said? If I have a baby, he won’t make you pay back the money. We need to try and have a child right now. Answering Kim Bo-kyung’s call in this situation is just too much.”

No matter how much Yoon-ha chattered beside him, Ihan could only think about Soo-ah. He wanted to return to Korea as soon as possible to see her, but he couldn’t. Possessive by nature, Yoon-ha stuck to Ihan’s side, watching his every move.

She wouldn’t even let him talk to another woman on the phone.

“Ihan, are you listening to me?”

    “Huh?”

When he absentmindedly asked back, Yoon-ha’s eyes drooped, and she put on a pitiful expression.

“There’s no one but my dad who can help with the funds. But he said he’d do it for you.”

    “Yeah, I’m grateful.”

A sudden financial problem had arisen in the company. If it wasn’t resolved immediately, the company would collapse. Desperate for a solution, the matter even reached Jang Yoon-ha’s ears.

Yoon-ha had told him to come to New York, promising to take care of the money. And while he was here, she arranged a meeting with her father, who happened to be in the U.S. for a short visit.

Her father had agreed to lend the money—on the condition that she got pregnant. He was a man so blinded by love for his daughter that he would do whatever she wanted. It was clear that this whole thing was Yoon-ha’s scheme.

Jang Yoon-ha was a sharp woman. Perhaps she had already sensed he was planning to ask for a divorce and decided to strike first. If they had a child and tangled finances together, divorce would become much more complicated.

Ihan had a vague sense that she was trying to trap him, but he had no other options.

“I was busy with my recitals, and you were preoccupied with work. We never really had time alone, and I’ve always felt bad about that.”

Yoon-ha whispered as she hugged Ihan from behind. Her warm breath, escaping from her red lips, dampened the shell of his ear in an oddly sensual way—but all he could think about was Soo-ah.

He wanted to fly back to Korea right away and kiss Soo-ah the moment he saw her. After finalizing his divorce with Jang Yoon-ha, he would make Soo-ah his woman. Because Moon Soo-ah was worth it.

She was too noble to be carelessly embraced.

He had planned to claim her only when everything was perfect. But now, things had changed. He needed Jang Yoon-ha. Her money, power, and influence were essential for Min Ihan to maintain his wealth. So, he decided to change his plan.

The moment he returned to Korea, he would take Soo-ah’s first time. Then, he would make sure she got pregnant as soon as possible.

For her, he had already purchased a villa in LA.

Since he had quarterly business trips, he could lie to Yoon-ha and live with Soo-ah like newlyweds in LA.

It didn’t matter what Soo-ah thought. That was irrelevant. Bo-kyung would follow whatever he said as long as he threw her some money. Soo-ah had nothing, and without his financial support, she had no way to survive.

She wasted her time on art, but even art required money. Money ruled everything. No matter what, as long as he had money, he could make a deal. If she wanted, she could give birth to two children and continue studying in the U.S.

Once she had his child, she would have no choice but to look only at him, to wait only for him. The thought of such a promising future excited him, and his manhood stirred in response.

    “Ihan.”

Yoon-ha’s hand slid toward his front.

Whenever he thought of Moon Soo-ah, blood rushed to one place without fail. Just as always, his manhood began to rise.

“You’re young, Ihan. We can do it every day, and then I’ll get pregnant in no time.”
