[Server] Anyone: Oh? Are those people the lords of our server’s guild?

[Server] NiceWords: Yep, sunfish (meaning: fragile or weak).

[Server] Anyone: I saw they even set the tax to the minimum, lol.

    [Server] RightOrNot: ⚆0⚆?? Really?

    [Server] PlayingIsTheBest: ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ Ahh, finally…

[Server] GrandBow: Oh! It’s really 10%????ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ We used to always have 40%ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

[Server] Soyaa: A nice city to live in, Canila Server ^^

[Server] NiceWords: Hahaha, so I’m on the lord’s side.

[Server] LordPleaseLookAtMe: On the lord’s side 222 (meaning: I agree/seconded).

    [Server] PlayingIsTheBest: I don’t know, don’t care >ㅅ<

[Server] GrandBow: Ttunttuni, minimum wage confirmed, lol.

That’s why people want power. As long as you don’t wield it recklessly, you can gain the support of many.
Jaein smiled meaningfully and poked Ttunttuni.

[Server] Mollamolla: Hey, Tun, did you see that?

[Server] Ttunttuni: ………WTF, where did everyone’s sense of fairness go?

    [Server] LotteriaKetchupThief: What’s that? ㅇㅅㅇ?

[Server] TteokbokkiRamen: GGMJ? (Abbreviation/slang, unclear meaning)

    [Server] LordPleaseLookAtMe: GGMJ?

Once the conversation opened up, people started teasing the frustrated Ttunttuni and laughed and chatted for a long time. Ttunttuni was fun to poke at, so even new players easily joined in and enjoyed the interaction. Because of that, the mood was pleasant for a first day of server integration.

But they couldn’t just keep playing around. Jaein’s real goal was to gather information about Anonymous0101, so he posted the advertisement again.

[Server] Mollamolla: ★Anonymous0101★ Looking for / Former Lucan Server / Ranker #5 / Reward: 10,000 gold (if found) / Whisper to: Mollamolla, Ttunttuni

[Server] LordPleaseLookAtMe: Now that I think about it, how are you planning to find 0101?

[Server] GrandBow: Even when that person was on the Lucan server, no one could find them.

[Server] PlayingIsTheBest: Yeah, no one knows who 0101 is.

[Server] MyOtome: Are you seriously looking for them?

Unlike their interest in gold, most were skeptical about finding Anonymous0101. That person’s identity had been a mystery before, and now with the servers integrated, it became even harder to find them.

    [Server] HealHow: Please, our Anonymous0101.

[Server] HealHow: Please just pass by my side.

[Server] LordPleaseLookAtMe: Not you, by my side.

[Server] HealHow: ^^ㅗ (flipping someone off playfully)

[Server] RightOrNot: People are gonna keep a close eye on things for a while, haha.

[Server] MoistOl: If I were Anonymous0101, I’d whisper to you right away.

As Jaein observed the players’ reactions, MoistOl’s comment sparked a new idea.

“Yeah, it’s best if the person reveals himself.”

Even though collecting reports was important, the best way would be for the target to come forward. Of course, since they had been hiding so well, they probably wouldn’t appear so easily. But the possibility couldn’t be ignored.

When he added a new note to the advertisement promising 30,000 gold if the person revealed themselves, the server chat started buzzing again.

Satisfied with his preparation, Jaein set up a macro to post the advertisement every 30 minutes. Constant advertising was necessary, but spamming the server with only his message could create backlash.

After completing his preparations, he unfolded his map.

    “Shall I go here today?”

At the top of the map was the Kahlua Snowfield. It was one of the high-level fields where you could encounter monsters ranked 3-stars or higher. He wasn’t used to visiting that area, but the thought of going somewhere cool was appealing since the weather was so hot.

<System: You have entered the Kahlua Snowfield.>

After teleporting, the pure white snowfield welcomed Jaein, just as the name suggested. The coordinates marked on his map pointed to the center of the field.

“This is my first time here.”

The portal system in the game Blaze was somewhat unique. Instead of taking players to a designated spot, it randomly placed them somewhere within the area.

The lore explained this as being due to the aura emitted by monsters, but it felt like the developers had put in so much effort into building the vast field that they wanted players to explore every corner thoroughly. There must’ve been thousands of waypoints.

At least, party members could teleport to the same location, which kept the randomness from being too frustrating. But taming monsters could only be done solo.

While running through the expansive snowfield, Jaein spotted something far away—a group of monsters. They were giant white wolves, bigger than humans. One of them had a diamond pointer above its head, indicating it was tamable.

“How lucky. Found one right away today.”

There were numerous monsters throughout the field, but only a few could be tamed. Normally, it would take about 30 minutes of searching to even find one. Finding one so quickly meant his luck was on point today.

Jaein summoned his ConnieMon group and rushed toward the wolf. As soon as he was in range, he used a crowd-control skill to immobilize the wolf with the diamond pointer and pulled the other monsters nearby.

He carefully gathered them into a single point by moving skillfully, applied slow effects, and started chipping away at their health using area-of-effect skills.

Since it was a high-level field, the monsters’ levels were high, and they dealt significant damage with plenty of health. If he made a mistake and got hit too many times, it would be game over.

Fortunately, the wolves didn’t require extreme control skills, so he was able to handle them without any issues. After clearing them out, he approached the remaining wolf with the diamond pointer. It started glowing, indicating interaction was now possible.

Pressing the G key switched the screen to a one-on-one encounter with the monster. At the same time, his ConnieMons were locked, making them unusable.

“Hope I get at least 4 stars.”

The text on the left explained that he could obtain a rank between 3-stars and 5-stars, chosen randomly. Anything below 4-stars was just material for evolution, but 4-stars and above were what really mattered.

The encounter began with a cinematic view showing the character and monster from a 360-degree angle, then the screen switched back to his perspective as a countdown started.

As the countdown ticked down from 10 seconds, Jaein adjusted his grip on the mouse.

    “Fight!”

The white wolf charged at him the moment the battle began.

Jaein quickly dodged and created distance before applying a slow effect. But the wolf resisted his spell.

    “Does it have magic resistance?”

He continued attacking with short-cast skills, but its health was barely dropping.

Suddenly, the wolf leaped high into the air and lunged at him with incredible speed.

Startled, Jaein canceled his skill and dodged just in time.

“What the heck? It’s closing the distance right away? Maybe you can’t get too far away from it?”

He began testing its range to confirm his theory.

Then, the monster used a charge skill with a 10-second cooldown when within 15m, but the moment the distance exceeded 15m, it used a jump skill to instantly close the gap. The biggest problem was the jump skill’s cooldown.

Unlike the charge skill, the jump skill seemed to have virtually no cooldown. If it did, it was probably only about 1 second. If the proper distance wasn’t maintained, the player would constantly be forced into close combat, which was a nightmare for a mage with weak defenses.

“15m… I have to stay closer than I thought.”
