FLBE Chapter 4 Part 2
by SYLPHSeeing the man act casually familiar in this unexpected place, her heart started to pound rapidly. Her face turned red, and just making eye contact with him caused a tight feeling in her lower abdomen.
Confused about her body’s reaction, Liena hesitated and stepped back. Her mind was flooded with the memories of everything she had done with this man in her dreams, and she couldn’t regain her composure.
“Aren’t you glad to see me?”
His disappointed expression and tilted head startled her. I just saw him once, and that’s it. Why would I be glad to see him? Afraid that he might figure out her indecent thoughts, Liena’s expression hardened.
“Hmm, curious?”
“…”
As the man who was looking at her cocked his head, Liena took a step back. After watching her for a while, the man laughed softly and reached for her hand, pulling her towards him. Despite her resistance, she ended up two steps closer to him.
“Well, there are a few strange things, but that’s something for you to figure out later little by little. Come here, you look like you were very tense earlier, the wind will help relax you.”
“Oh, but I…”
“Hmm?”
“I have to go somewhere else…”
“Why?”
What why…!
The more she saw him, the stranger the responses in her body became. Her reasoning was warning her that she shouldn’t be with this man. The man from her dreams and the man in front of her started to overlap. It felt as if the boundary between reality and dreams was blurred, as if she had actually done those things with this man.
“Well then, it was nice to… Ah!”
She got pulled abruptly and her body leaned against the railing. The man, who had trapped her within his arms then, leaned towards her.
Looking at the man getting closer, just as his lips were about to touch hers, she quickly turned her head to avoid him. Having known how provocative his lips were, her heart surprisingly started to beat rapidly. It was, of course, not a dream, but the sensation felt too similar.
“Why do I get the feeling that you’re avoiding me…Did I do something wrong?”
“No, it’s…just move aside, please.”
“It’s as if you’re recalling something while looking at me. Even your face is turning red, which is suspicious.”
“No, that’s not it!”
“Hmm…really?”
As she locked eyes with the persistent man, Liena swallowed her saliva. In the meantime, the dense floral scent emanating from him hit her and she momentarily felt dizzy. At that moment, his warm hand touched her cheek. She was surprised to find his lips against hers.
“!”
It was fortunately a light kiss, not the passionate one she was familiar with. Nevertheless, her heart was pounding wildly. She wasn’t nervous or excited, yet her heartbeat and dizziness were inexplicable.
“I promised to greet you if we meet again. Are you upset?”
“…Move, move aside.”
“Hmm, you sound disappointed.”
“Move aside first and then talk!”
“Alright, alright. No need to be so angry.”
Liena watched as the man peacefully raised his arms and stepped back. She let out a breath she’d been holding. She nearly swooped in, as if she had been the one desperate for his touch, her reasoning almost lost to the floral scent wafting off of him and the similar sensation of his lips she’d felt in her dream.
What’s wrong with me? Why am I behaving like this?
What would he think if he knew? If he found out that she was not just dreaming of him but, in those dreams, she even used him to relieve her lust making herself c*m? Undoubtedly, he’d see her as a lustful woman, not a Saintess. The man’s adoring gaze would probably turn to contempt faster than one could flip a hand.
It’s not that she was seeking his affection, but she didn’t want to be seen with contempt either. She still vividly remembered the scornful glances of Emma and the maids. She didn’t want to be viewed as a gratuitous pleaser as she was in her past life. Though she didn’t expect to be loved, she didn’t want to be hated by anyone either.
I need to leave right now.
She shouldn’t continue this with him. Above all, if Rhetrik saw this scene, she and the man would be done for. He would definitely not forgive an omega who had held another man’s hand. She had to prevent the banquet for the Saintess from turning into her funeral.
Not to mention, if Roan saw this, he would be disappointed for sure. She wanted to remain by his side as a saintess, not as an omega. Just the thought that even his gentle smile could turn cold unsettled her heart. Everything suggested that she shouldn’t be alone with this man.
Panic seized Liena as she quickly straightened her clothes and looked at the man in front of her. Wrinkles creased his forehead as if he was upset. Regardless, she had to leave immediately. Now was not the time to cater to the feelings of a man she barely knew.
“You, you’re rude. What are you doing without permission? I won’t accuse you any further, just let me pass…”
She tried to sound assertive, but the enticing aura of the man made her stammer and shrink away. Above all, she feared someone outside the balcony might be eavesdropping on this unbelievable situation, making her voice grow even quieter.
“Rude… Didn’t I say last time we met? I’d kiss you when we meet again.”
“I, I never gave you permission. You just said it and disappeared.”
“Alright. Then I will ask again. May I kiss you?”
“No! I, I will be going now…”
Is he crazy too!? Why am I surrounded by abnormal people?
Liena, helpless in hiding her trembling eyes, mumbled in a tiny voice and turned toward the door. Yet, she was barely a few steps forward before being seized by the man again.
“Crazy, huh? Living with the craziest person in the empire, and treating me the same as him… Somehow, it feels unfair, doesn’t it?”
“When did I call you crazy…! First, le-let go of me…!”
She thought she said it in her mind, but it somehow came out. Amidst the daze, seeing the man becoming more and more unrestrained scared her.
“Why are you always on guard when I’m doing nothing? One would think I mistreated you or something.”
“Ah!”
