FLBE Chapter 2 Part 12
by SYLPHThe man who had passionately overwhelmed her suddenly changed. His eyes, which had lost control like an Alpha in heat, had swirled wildly, and he seemed frustrated as if he couldn’t fill her right then and there. He had shown signs of desperation before, but never so ruthlessly.
“Maybe he was afraid I might die.”
Yesterday, Rhetrik was behaving strangely from the start. His incessant, unnecessary questions had been suspicious. In the end, everything had gone awry, and as expected, the outcome wasn’t pleasant. His eccentric personality was just as described in novels, and there had been something oddly different about him in some corners.
“Ah! I don’t know. Anyway, that darn Omega, Omega! I really hate it.”
As she pouted her lips, Liena suddenly looked at the large door, her emotions turning into tears. She felt uneasy as if Rhetrik might come in any moment. Just thinking what expression would he have, what he would say if they met again, made her heart pound heavily in her chest.
“I wish someone would take me out of here.”
Although there might not be a top Alpha stronger than Rhetrik, she still wished that a kind and gentle top Alpha would rescue her from this hell. Within just a day, her refuge next to Rhetrik had turned into a danger zone again.
As Liena let out another long sigh, the large door creaked open with a ‘creak’. Startled, she quickly flipped her blanket over herself and peered out with only her eyes. She opened her real eyes and confirmed the person entering before her heart, which had been pounding, settled down again.
“Are you awake, Your Holiness?”
“Ah, yes…”
Relieved to see that it was the maid who came in yesterday, Liena awkwardly sat up.
“I…”
“I’m Emma. Please feel free to call me Emma.”
“Yes, Emma. But His Majesty…”
“The Emperor is not in the palace right now.”
“What?”
“I don’t know the details.”
“I-I see…”
The fact that Rhetrik was absent eased her breathing, like finally the piece of meat that had been struck in her throat had gone down. With him not being here, the palace felt like a safe haven.
“I’ll prepare the water for washing. By the way, would you like to have your meal downstairs or here?”
“I’ll eat here.”
“Understood. I’ll get it ready.”
“Yes, thank you.”
After Emma left and Liena got out of bed, she finally got a proper look at the room she had been given for the first time. Yesterday, she had been too absorbed in being dragged and thrown onto the bed, enduring Rhetrik’s rough desire, so she hadn’t had a chance to take in her surroundings. Now, she could finally see the room he had prepared for her.
“This is really my room…?”
Compared to the Emperor’s room where Rhetrik stayed, this room felt both splendid and cozy. It was enough to capture her attention. Liena moved around the room, sweeping her gaze over the luxurious furniture and taking in the paintings by an unknown artist. Then, she opened the window, following the pouring light that spilled through the wide windowpane.
“Wow…”
The wind that poured in suddenly tangled her disheveled hair. She stepped onto the spacious balcony, which was elliptical in shape and held onto the railing that reached her waist. Liena’s mouth fell open as she took in the panoramic view of the palace.
The vast garden was filled with lush trees and an array of flowers that looked like a painting. Just from what she could see, the palace garden was so beautiful that she thought it might be heaven.
However, her admiration was short-lived as her gaze fell to the distance below. Worries that she might be locked up here on this high floor flashed through her mind. Her room in the palace building was on such a high floor. Glancing down, it seemed too risky to try escaping from here alone.
“That despicable guy.”
Quickly losing her excitement, Liena entered the room with pursed lips. She sighed, feeling like she had to endure this man’s sexu@l desires until she died.
Being here seemed safe as long as he was in his right mind, but if he were to change like he did yesterday, it would be hard to handle. With him in that state, she might not last long and would soon follow the fate of the dead saintess. Did the Omega saint’s destiny only have a bad ending?
Staring at the distant sky, Liena let out a deep sigh.

The sun set, casting a somber atmosphere over the battlefield.
A man stood in front of the fierce wind, his expression even colder than the chilling wind that whipped through the air.
