    Chapter Index

The black puff of smoke that had suddenly appeared beside the bed took on the shape of a human being, and then Shia, fully formed, sprang up and called out Hanaella.

The black smoke dissipated behind Shia, whose eyes widened to the point of bulging out before he could finish his sentence.

Lloyd, who had just climaxed, and Hanaella, who was crying out in pleasure beneath him, froze like ice at the sudden appearance of Shia, then began to turn white.

    💫

    “Because of the continuation covenant?”

Hanaella asked, her arms wrapped in Lloyd’s robe as she looked at Shia, who was sitting on the couch across from her, his hands resting neatly on his thighs and clenched into fists.

    “Uh, yeah. Maybe…”

Lloyd, also hastily dressed in pants, ran a hand through his silky platinum hair and sat down next to Hanaella, glaring at Shia.

Lloyd had noticed the black smoke rising from the side of the bed when Hanaella had screamed ‘No’

But he’d never imagined that the word ‘No’ could teleport a minister.

It was something they hadn’t imagined either, as they had signed a contract to live on. While it’s a solid covenant for Hanaella, it’s become a nuisance for Lloyd.

“It was written that the minister would teleport to the contractor’s side if they were in danger, wherever that might be.”

Lloyd says, “But to come in here, where you cannot enter without a pass? I mean, she wasn’t even in danger in the first place…”

Hanaella pressed against her forehead and muttered to herself.

Shia said nothing, keeping his head down and staring at the floor.

“You reacted because I shouted ‘No’?”

Shia looked up at Hanaella’s question.

“Before that, I heard a voice saying she was going to die. I was listening to see if something had happened, but then you started screaming and yelling no…”

“You do realize that it didn’t sound like she was about to die, don’t you? No, what made you think that those sweet moans were the same as the screams you let out in moments of danger?”

When Shia was unable to respond to Lloyd’s words, Hanaella spoke to him in a whisper.

“He doesn’t know about it, and the act itself was the first time he’d ever done it, when he made that covenant with me.”

Lloyd’s eyebrows twitched as the word ‘first’ came out of Hanaella’s mouth.

‘A first… a first. How dare he give his first to Hana.’

Lloyd clicked his tongue low, jealousy rising to the base of his throat. Shia turned to Lloyd and bowed his head sharply.

“I do apologize, my lord. I was rashly casting teleportation and…”

Lloyd shook his head a couple of times at Shia’s words. It wasn’t like he was criticizing anything.

In fact, it was commendable. Though it was a little annoying that he’d interrupted their climax.

“No. You may continue to act rashly.”

At his words, Shia and Hanaella’s gazes turned to Lloyd at the same time.

“If something really does happen, stalling for time could put one of us in danger.”

    “…”

“So you’d better not act as rashly as you did today.”

A flush of red tinged Hanaella’s face at Lloyd’s words.

“I can take care of myself, and it’s not fair if you come barging in like this every time I scream at something. I’d be screaming that it hurts if I cut my hand on a piece of paper while reading a book…”

    “…”

“Anyway, isn’t it great to be able to hear voices when in danger, even if it puts you in this awkward situation when it’s not really dangerous.”

    “…”

    “…”

“Hmm— I wonder what we should do then.”

Lloyd clenched his jaw and began to think, his firmly defined abs catching Hanaella’s attention and causing her to squint at them.

“Why don’t you let your little contractor hear for himself what it sounds like when you reach the peak?”

The words came out of Lloyd’s mouth as he pondered something.

He wondered how to recognize the voice in true danger, but there seemed to be no other way than to listen and compare.

Of course, time, and experience would teach them, so it didn’t feel unreasonable.

But I didn’t want to be interrupted when I was at the peak of enjoyment like I was today, so I thought I’d better make sure it was right.

In fact, the main reason I wanted to make sure Hanaella understood that she was mine.

Hanaella turned to Lloyd and asked him what he meant by that, and Shia looked back and forth between them, his face a mask of innocence.

“I’m not showing you, I’m letting you hear.”

Lloyd said, pointing to his own ear.

“Why do you have to, it’s not like this mistake will happen again…”

“How many more moans do you think will come out of that mouth of hers, worse than today’s?”

    “…?!”

“What I just did here wasn’t even a third of what I want to do to her, and I don’t think there will be many more times in the future when she’ll be moaning and clinging to me like she’s going to die under me, and this guy won’t be able to distinguish those moans from screams of danger.”

Hmph— Hanaella’s face flushed as if it were about to burst.

    💫

“What do you mean, you can give me Ariel’s rights, my lady.”

At Edward’s creepily low tone, Rosaryn’s face stiffened. But then she managed to control her expression and smiled.

“Ariel will soon be betrothed to Thearine, and Lady Hanaella will become the wife of my brother, Count Tharrott, and they will hail it as the marriage of the ages, the love of the century.”

    “…”

“And when my brother Tharrott becomes the husband of Hanaella, the control of the Demon Exterminator’s supplies will be his right.”

‘This woman speaks as if it is a given. Lady Hanaella will become Count Tharrott’s wife? Her request is far too outlandish for that.’

No, even if it were, it’s ridiculous to think that marriage alone would transfer Ariel’s rights to Count Tharrott.

The other was a witch called the Darkness of Hayden.

There’s no way in hell she’s going to hand over the rights to her family to her husband unless she’s a spinster who’s fallen for a man.

And even if she did, the Darkness of Hayden would still be Duke Ethan, unless the House of Ariel changed its head right now.

And unless Duke Ethan, the current head of House Ariel, was a fool, he wouldn’t stand by and let his daughter give all the rights of the house to her husband.

What makes this woman believe that Lady Hanaella would hand over her family rights to Count Tharrott?

“Have Count Tharrott and Lady Hanaella promised to marry?”

    “…That’s not it.”

    ‘They haven’t?’

    “No, but they will soon.”

A face full of conviction. Edward realized that there must be a connection between the request of the young lady Hanaella and the Delphiter that Count Tharrott had bought.

“Saying that it will be done soon is not a definitive answer to my question.”

    “…!”

“I like things to be certain.”

“Well, then, first of all, you must have the trust of Her Majesty the Empress…!”

“Do you think I, a member of the imperial family, need Her Majesty’s trust, and that I can only obtain it through Count Thearine?”

    “…!”

“Let’s pretend there was no deal, please go back.”

Edward rose to his feet, a bewildered Rosaryn following him.

“It’s going to happen, the marriage, before the time comes for the slaying of the demons of the North!”

    “…”

“I’ll come back with the Demon Extermination, and then you’ll have an answer to my proposal.”

Why anyone would want to marry her was beyond me, but I realized there had to be a reason. I was also curious that she seemed so confident that she would bring Ariel’s rights herself.

What kind of certainty could this woman have?

“Very well, once Lady Hanaella is married to the Count Tharrott and control of the Demon Exterminator’s supplies is in my hands, then we’ll think about this deal.”

Sighing heavily, as if relieved by Edward’s words, Rosaryn rose to her feet.

Her accentuated cleavage jutted out, drawing attention to it, but Edward’s gaze never wandered there.
