How to Raise a Young Esper

When an A-rank gate appears in the ruins of Sanghyeon-dong, a place devastated by a gate outbreak long ago, one of South Korea’s few S-rank espers, Cha Yoo-heon, steps in to handle the situation. However, this triggers the worst possible outcome.

Cha Yoo-heon is notorious for being immune to guiding, and no guide exists who can calm him.

As Yoo-heon begins to spiral out of control, Yoon Hae-jin, the leader of a combat guide team who happens to be on vacation nearby, is called to the scene.

“Esper Cha Yoo-heon,  I’m here to guide you. Are you going to refuse?”

“…I found you.”  

“What? Wait a second.”

Despite his reputation for being ungovernable, Yoo-heon’s energy inexplicably drains Hae-jin’s guiding power, causing him to pass out.

“Sorry, but are you interested in me?”

From that day on, Yoo-heon follows Hae-jin around like a kitten who’s chosen its owner, and their compatibility rate is a staggering 92%.

“Guide only me. If you do it for anyone else, I’ll kill them.”

Yoo-heon clings to Hae-jin with unwavering obsession, begging to become his official pair. But Hae-jin, who has only ever lost the things he cherished, wants to avoid getting close to anyone again. 

The young esper, Cha Yoo-heon, who can’t take his eyes off Hae-jin with a devotion bordering on blindness, bears an uncanny resemblance to the cat who was once his only family and the reason for his existence.

Top: Cha Yoo-heon – A person with clear boundaries between himself and others, generally indifferent to those around him. His personality is unpredictable, much like a cat. When it comes to Yoon Hae-jin, he’s obsessively devoted, to the point of believing he’d rather die than not be loved by him. Raised as an esper from a young age, he endured near-abusive training to hone his abilities but doesn’t see it as wrong. He’s an S-rank esper with the ability to transform into a cat and wield deadly shadow venom.

Bottom: Yoon Hae-jin – Highly sociable and quick to pick up on others’ affection toward him. He appears kind but is actually averse to bothersome things and has a subtly indifferent personality. Responsible and genuinely affectionate toward children and animals. His current dream is to step down from his position as guide team leader and live a leisurely life in the countryside. However, Cha Yoo-heon, who calls him “Dad,” keeps tugging at his heartstrings.
