Crossroads

After nearly four months of brutal war, the mighty empire of Cheongwolmok, led by Grand King Yoon Geon, succeeds in conquering the Western Kingdom of Seoro. Though the nation now lies at his feet, Yoon Geon, instead of executing its foreign king, Seo Hwi, locks him away in the royal harem — solely for the fact that Seo Hwi dared to hold out against him for so long.

A year passes.

The Grand King, who had all but forgotten Seo Hwi’s existence, suddenly remembers — and decides to humiliate him.

“You’ve been living here for quite some time now, and yet, as your ‘husband,’ I haven’t even properly consummated our union.”

Seo Hwi only laughed — openly, mockingly.
