Captain Dog Bastard
Self-proclaimed dog bastard, Captain Jang Do-jun, becomes a military dog!
With perfect education, looks, and connections, Captain Jang Do-jun has it all. At his division commander father’s orders, he’s transferred to the struggling Garam Unit to address its budget crisis. Pinpointing the military dogs’ expenses as a major cause, he orders their euthanasia. Sergeant Lee Seon-woo, the military dog handler, fiercely opposes this. Though both are drawn to each other’s appearance, they can’t agree on the dogs’ fate.
One day, while heading to his quarters, Jang Do-jun swerves to avoid a dog that darts into the road, crashing into a rice paddy. When he wakes up, he’s not in a hospital but in the military dog clinic. Having swapped bodies with the military dog Maru, Jang Do-jun now faces the threat of being euthanized himself.
Jang Do-jun, Lee Seon-woo, and Maru team up to try and reverse the soul swap. Will Jang Do-jun survive, reclaim his body, and find success in both work and love?
Top: Jang Do-jun, the second son of a family with a long military lineage and the son of a division commander. His hobby is calculating soldiers’ salaries, and his specialty is revoking leaves. He knows his nickname is “son of a bitch” but instead of changing, he leans into it, embracing his jerk persona.
Bottom: Lee Seon-woo, a former animal health and welfare major who enlisted in the military. Due to his major, he became a military dog handler. Unable to leave the military dogs behind, he decided to stay in the army long-term. As Maru’s handler and someone who cherishes all military dogs, he’s overly sensitive and sentimental, not cut out to be a soldier.
