Unexpected Ch 8 part 1
by AnonAnemoneShe could feel the faint morning light seeping into the room. Completely drunk on sleep, ChaYoung tried to shake off the intense fatigue that seemed to paralyze her. However, her body felt like it was made of wet cotton. It felt so heavy that she couldn’t even muster the strength to open her eyes.
Why am I so…
She frowned as she squirmed under the sheets. Her eyes suddenly burst open. The scent of the room was not familiar.
“Gah!”
The memories of last night flooded her mind as the face of a man staring at her entered her vision. Unlike her, who was completely naked, he was wearing casual but well-fitted clothes as he laid next to her with his chin perched in his hand.
“When did you wake up?”
She blinked rapidly as she slowly brought the sheet up to her chest. Her throat felt hoarse and her voice was raspy.
How long had he been watching her? Had she slept weird? As these thoughts rushed through her head, he answered her in a calm voice.
“Probably at the break of dawn?”
That made no sense. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at him in disbelief.
“I thought it was dawn when you grabbed the fourth condom.”
“I consider it dawn even if the sun hasn’t risen.”
Although it was unreasonable, she didn’t have the strength to argue with him. She had been inside his embrace all night and screamed until her throat went hoarse. Considering all this, she didn’t think she had much of a leg to stand on. She never thought that she had such a side to herself.
She began to let out a sigh when he stretched out his hand and carefully swept back her hair. She flinched and shrank back. Her hair must have looked an absolute mess since she had just woken up, but his touch was incredibly gentle and soft.
“I never thought I’d watch someone sleep.”
He murmured as he traced his finger down from her forehead to the bridge of her nose. There hadn’t been a reason for him to think this way before. At this thought, his brows slightly furrowed.
“Dating seems to make people… turn very strange.”
This man always seemed to say ‘dating’ as if he were trying to remind himself that they were dating. He must have felt awkward about it as much as she did.
“You’re right. To think that I’m dating you, Sunbae… Just the thought alone makes my fingers curl up and shrivel.”
She lifted her hand into the air and clenched it into a fist. She was only saying this to agree with him, but a mischievous gleam flashed in his eyes.
“If your hands feel a bit empty, you can hold my thing instead.”
He kept his eyes on her hand as he spoke. He suddenly moved to take off his pants, causing her to grab the sheets and sit up.
“Geez!”
She suppressed the urge to slap him on the back and merely glared at him. His eyes crinkled in laughter.
“Maybe it’s because I haven’t fed you. You’re quite prickly today.”
“I can’t get used to it, so please don’t say things like that.”
“Don’t say what, specifically?”
“If you don’t remember, I’m going to grab it and snap it off.”
“I can’t let that happen. Thanks to you, I can no longer use magic.”
Feeling that she could never win a battle of words with him, she chewed on her lips as she glared at him. He looked at her with a relaxed expression and shrugged.
“Alright. I’ll feed you.”
He straightened up. She watched him and spoke up.
“I’ll go out after I wash up.”
She didn’t know what she’d do if he nitpicked at what she said, but he merely gestured to the bathroom with his chin.
“There should be a bathrobe inside.”
She suddenly recalled the haphazardly discarded clothes in the bathroom. She hoped he didn’t personally pick up her clothes and wash them. It was too embarrassing.
Should she wear his clothes like the female leads in romantic movies?
But she wouldn’t worry about that now. Just the thought of walking into the bathroom naked made her cheeks flush. She couldn’t drag the bedsheets with her into the bathroom.
She quietly let out a sigh. Thankfully, he stood up. Click. After she made sure that he had exited the room, she lowered her feet to the floor.
“Uugh.”
As soon as she stood up, a groan escaped her lips. He was the one who had been bucking like a stallion, but she was the one who was dying. How was this possible? Her face reddened, and she couldn’t help but blame him in her heart.
“Even though I’m the one who’s younger.”
She mumbled with an empty voice as she lowered the sheet and began to move her stiff legs. It felt strange to feel the graze of the fabric against her bare legs. She felt as if she could hear her joints creaking.
She pushed a glass door to the side, and it revealed a space that led to the powder room, the dressing room, and a bathroom.
She walked into the bathroom. It was a cream-colored marble bathroom accented by gold hardware. It gave off a milky-white hue, giving it a much warmer atmosphere than the bedroom.
She turned her head and walked over to the sculpted marble sink. The moment she looked into the framed mirror, she let out a gasp.
“My goodness.”
To think that she had dreamed of living in a romance movie with this appearance…
Her dark circles seemed to reach down to her cheeks. She looked like she’d just come out of a zombie movie. Not only that, she also had marks all over her shoulders, collarbone, and chest. She felt another wave of despair.
She had never seen herself like this before. She quickly snapped out of her stupor and opened a new toothbrush package and began to brush her teeth. Then she walked into the shower and turned the lever. Although she knew that the water wouldn’t wash away the bruises, she still wanted to look a bit more human.
She wet the sponge and squirted a heap of body wash. After lathering it, she stretched out her arm and began to wash. The cooling and refreshing fragrance tickled her nose.
She finally felt a bit more rejuvenated.
Click.
She quickly took a shower and observed the contents on the bathroom shelf. Just as he’d said, there was a bathrobe.
Just from one look, she could tell that it was big enough to fit an adult male. She would probably be buried in it if she put it on, but it was better wearing it than not.
After she put the robe on, she cautiously walked out. It kept slipping down, but she liked the fluffy feel of it. It reminded her of when she would bury herself into a large blanket as a child.
Exiting the bathroom, she walked out in her bare feet. The bedroom was still empty. She walked across the room and stopped in front of the door.
This unfamiliar place. She couldn’t just open the door wearing nothing but a bathrobe. She stood awkwardly as she fidgeted, unsure of what to do.
Just when she felt like she wanted to hear his mischievous voice, the door suddenly opened.
“Hmm. It seems that I’m not the only one who’s a bit disappointed.”
He placed his hand on the doorknob and tilted his head. She blankly stared at him until she felt his gaze travel to the front of the bathrobe. She quickly returned to her senses.
“What are you talking about?”
“That we only did it four times. Is that why you’re standing here like this? Because you’re disappointed? Do you want to do it one more time before we eat?”
Her eyes narrowed.
They say a thief who learns to steal late in life doesn’t know when to stop…
Unlike her, who felt like she was half-dead, he was like a character in a game who had just leveled up. He seemed completely powered up.
Even though he might be joking around, she didn’t want him to think she was taken aback.
“If we’re only going to do it one more time, it’s better not to start at all.”
She snorted as she passed him and walked out the door. She thought she heard his low chuckle behind her, but she ignored it and moved her legs.
She walked towards the aroma of food, and she soon found herself in the large, mostly empty living room. The interior decorations took up an appropriate amount of space, not too much, not too little. It seemed to fit his personality perfectly.
Because it was such a large space and only the necessary furniture was situated inside, it made the place seem a lot more empty and cold than her own apartment.
“I don’t need much.”
She heard his lighthearted voice in her ear as she looked around. He walked to her side.
As she took in the dull apartment, she wondered if this is what others thought when they saw her desolate apartment as well. She was the type of person who liked to dispose of things she didn’t need instead of letting it pile up, so this was the first time she had a thought like this.
“The kitchen is this way.”
When she felt a warmth on her shoulder, she raised her head. He gently wrapped his arm around her shoulders and gestured to the kitchen with his eyes. He dragged her to the kitchen, and she saw the food on the table. Her eyes widened.
“Did you make all this, Sunbae?”
Even as she asked, she knew it was impossible. He must have reheated some food that the housekeeper had made yesterday or gone out to grab some food while she was asleep. That would be much more plausible.
He had just bragged about how he didn’t need much as he showed off his empty living room, so there was no way he’d have the tools necessary to cook a meal in his kitchen.
But she couldn’t help but ask anyway.
“Why would I go through all that effort?”
Even though she didn’t have a romantic desire to be with a man who cooked, when she heard his reply, she couldn’t help but feel disappointed. Then did she want to see Do KunHyung cooking for the woman he loved…
Surprised by the sudden thought, she quickly wiped the shocked expression off her face and sat down at the table. This relationship wasn’t deep from the start. She had lightheartedly accepted his proposition to date, so she mustn’t hold any expectations of him.
Even though she knew this, she didn’t know why she felt so empty. She began to bite the inside of her cheek when she heard his voice.
“There’s a place that I think is pretty good for a restaurant that delivers. If you like it, I can give you their information.”
As she broke away from her thoughts, ChaYoung shook her head. This wasn’t just satisfactory. The amount of food was excessive for breakfast. However, thinking back on his stamina, she felt that this was actually the right amount of food after all.
“Do you usually eat like this?”
“Usually. I don’t like doing things in half measures.”
“I see.”
After a moment of silence, he asked her.
“What about you?”
“Pardon?”
“Breakfast. What do you do for breakfast?”
“I don’t starve.”
She picked up a piece of smoked tofu from her salad and put it in her mouth as she answered.
“You use a delivery service, too?”
“Did you ever consider that I might cook my own food?”
His brows twitched.
“That’s unexpected.”
“It’s nothing crazy if that’s what you’re thinking. I put the cooked rice in the freezer and heat it up when I’m ready to eat it. I make a couple of dried side dishes and sometimes heat up some stew. Nothing much.”
“I never thought you’d cook.”
“It’s nothing incredible.”
If she had inherited her grandmother’s cooking ability, it might have been incredible. However, unfortunately, she could only copy a few of her dishes.
“Imagining you in an apron seems a bit strange.”
She froze as she scooped some rice onto her spoon. But she didn’t think his mind was going in that direction, so she quickly calmed herself down.
“You weren’t imagining me in only an apron, right?”
When she asked him with a calm face, his brow rose.
“I wouldn’t have if you didn’t mention it.”
He gracefully placed a piece of fish on top of her spoon. He looked a bit embarrassed as he continued talking.
“They say you shouldn’t disturb a dog when it’s eating. So why do I feel like being a dog?”
When she silently blinked at him in confusion, he merely gestured with his chin and murmured, ‘Hurry up and eat.’ Then he continued in a soft voice.
“It’s because I keep wanting to crawl underneath the table and lick you there.”
Unlike her, who suddenly stiffened completely, he had a relaxed expression on his face. Her cheeks flushed as she mulled over his words.
She tried to pretend it didn’t bother her, but she failed. She grabbed the cup and gulped down the water.
“You weren’t this kind of person before.”
Tap. She placed the cup down and spoke. He shrugged.
“You made me this way. It can’t be helped.”
Although she didn’t want to admit it, the haughty smile on his lips was so attractive. And the voice that flowed out of those lips…
“You’re the only one who makes me like this.”
It was ridiculous, but he also sounded sweet.
“If it wasn’t you and it was someone else…”
Lowering himself from the chair, he knelt on the floor. Then he went on all fours and began to crawl over to her.
“I wouldn’t do something like this.”
He said it so softly that she could barely hear him. His voice wound around her ears, making it impossible for her to push him away.
She needed to tell him to leave her alone. But like the song of a siren seducing sailors at sea, it was fatal.
