SAV Chapter 1
by anzhe798
Hey. Wake up.
I said wake up.
We have to go now.
I felt someone shaking me awake. I had returned to my room and laid down on the bed for a moment, but it seems I had fallen asleep. Remembering that I was supposed to go out for dinner with my family, I opened my eyes wide.
“Hey, Park Se-young, what time is it now?”
Since I had fallen asleep at home, I assumed it was my younger sibling waking me up and asked.
“Park Se-young? Who’s that?”
But what came back wasn’t my sister’s curt reply, but the voice of a young man I’d never heard before. My only family member was my younger sister. And throughout my three years in high school, I had been bullied, so I didn’t have any friends who would visit my home.
Who is it? With a puzzled mind, I opened my drowsy eyes.
“Ha, this guy’s still half asleep.”
“Get up right now, you punk, security patrol starts at eight o’clock.”
Unfamiliar young men in school uniforms were standing next to me with serious expressions. As I mentioned earlier, there was no one who would visit our house. Then who are these students? Wondering if I was still half asleep, I rubbed my face with both hands and squeezed my eyes shut. When I opened them again, the scene of an unfamiliar classroom came into view.
‘What’s this, am I still dreaming?’
I thought it was a dream. It had to be a dream. Otherwise, how could I, who had been sleeping in my bed in my room, suddenly be wearing an unfamiliar school uniform, sitting in an unfamiliar classroom, surrounded by unfamiliar guys?
While I was bewildered, a student who had been standing by the window looking outside urgently slung his bag over his shoulder.
“Hey, security’s coming into the building. Let’s get out of here!”
The guy who first darted toward the classroom door gestured toward me. Dazed, I mumbled “uh” and ran down the corridor with the others, slinging my bag over my shoulder.
After escaping school through a hole in the fence, we all instinctively pressed ourselves against the wall to catch our breath. I had been feeling this since earlier, but the situation was too vivid to be a dream.
The scent of spring in the wind, the feeling of fabric sticking to my back from the sweat of running, and the real-time expressions of the male students-everything was eerily realistic.
As my rapid breathing gradually returned to normal, I had the leisure to think. Wondering what on earth was happening, I blinked my eyes. I blinked several times, but the dream didn’t end.
‘Is this some kind of lucid dream?’
Maybe I was having this dream because of my yearning to spend time with friends and create memories throughout my three years of high school.
I looked down at one guy who was sitting on the ground catching his breath. Since I still hadn’t sorted out the current situation, I opened my mouth to try to infer what was going on.
“Um… guys. Why did we do this?”
One student looked at me with somewhat strange eyes.
“What do you mean why?”
“Then, shit, should we have stayed? Want to run into security?”
“If security asks, ‘Why haven’t you guys left yet?’ should we say, ‘Ah, we’re trying to lock up one kid’?”
“Lock up? Who?”
This doesn’t seem like the youth drama dream I was thinking of.
“……………You? Don’t tell me you’re trying to back out now?”
The guy who was sitting on the ground looked up at me, rolling his eyes at my question. The nuance suggested that I was involved in some kind of incident.
“You think you can get out of this by pretending not to know?”
“Right. This guy was the first one to suggest locking up Choi Je-ha, how can he back out now?”
One student raised his chin to point at me, who was standing there in a daze.
Even in this bewildering situation, the three characters of the name mentioned in the conversation rang out clearly. It was because this was the only name I recognized among these strangers.
‘That name… I’ve seen it before!’
Right in the document file my sister had written.
<*Gong1: Choi Je-ha
#beta->dominant alpha with strong genes #dangerous alpha #devoted and caring alpha with limited omega options #hidden keyword exists #has an incredible secret
A third-year student in class 2 at Raon Jena High School, suffering terrible bullying at school under Cha Eunseong’s leadership. Develops feelings for Kim Juyoung, the only person who didn’t ostracize him during school days, and eventually falls in love.>
Just a few hours ago,
My laptop broke down, so I borrowed my sister’s PC. While using it, I noticed an interesting title in the document history and clicked on it as if drawn to it. It was a novel synopsis and detailed character description titled “The Circumstances of an Omega,” and it seemed to be written by my sister.
I couldn’t understand terms that appeared throughout like “alpha” and “omega,” but it roughly seemed to be about the life story of a smart and brilliant female protagonist with an Omega(?) trait. It looked like she might have been planning to submit it somewhere, as each chapter had detailed descriptions of events and emotional flows. I remembered myself laughing and cringing while reading it.
I pressed my palm against my forehead and squeezed my eyes shut.
When my sister came back from school, I asked her what an Omega was…
‘Oh shit, are you crazy, Park Sejin? Didn’t I tell you not to snoop through my computer? Want me to search through yours? If you’re that curious, go into the story and find out yourself! Seriously, I hate this!’
I think I heard something like that curse.
It’s a curse.
This is clearly a curse my sister put on me!
That’s why I’m having this absurd lucid dream right now!
That’s what I thought.
By this point, something occurred to me that I needed to check, so I quickly turned toward the school gate.
“Hey, are you crazy? There are CCTV cameras there!”
The kids grabbed my arm telling me to stop, but whether I got caught or not, this was a dream, so what did it matter to me?
I could just wake up and it would be over. Thinking this, I shook them off.
As I approached the school gate, I saw a nameplate attached to the brick wall beside it. I slowly approached and traced the letters on the nameplate with my fingers.
In the rapidly descending darkness, the letters beneath my trembling palm felt distinctly clear.
<Raon Jena High School>
I had been thinking “no way,” but it was exactly the school mentioned in the synopsis.
Is it possible to dream about the contents of a synopsis I saw during the day? Amazed, I stood there for a while with my mouth open, staring blankly at the nameplate.
“Damn it, what are you doing? Aren’t you coming?”
One of the students walking in the opposite direction from the school gate looked back at me with annoyance.
Since we were planning to have king crab, my favorite, for dinner tonight, I wanted to quickly wake up from this dream and return to where I originally was.
‘How do I wake up?’
I was anxious that they might leave with just my sister without me. So I pinched my thigh without hesitation. Far from waking up, it only hurt. It seems that applying physical force in a dream doesn’t wake you up. If that’s the case, it means I can only return to reality if someone wakes me up from outside or if I wake up from the dream myself…
‘Won’t I wake up within two hours?’
Thinking this, I didn’t take the current situation too seriously. And I decided to enjoy this strange phenomenon a bit more until I woke up from the dream.
‘If this place is from the novel my sister wrote…’
Suddenly, I thought of someone I wanted to meet.
It was the character Choi Jeha, whom the students had just mentioned.
Even while reading the synopsis, I was interested in this character. Because he was experiencing exactly what I had gone through in real life.
Although I didn’t show it to my family, I was being seriously ostracized. There was no particular reason for it. It was simply a tragedy born from a misunderstanding between a friend and me, compounded by others’ instigation.
It was the same for him.
Choi Jeha wasn’t the type of person who deserved to be criticized or intentionally harmed. Although his identity wasn’t revealed in the synopsis, it was an unjust bullying caused by someone’s instigation. I remembered a few hints that could identify that person.
Since things had turned out this way.
‘Let’s at least give him hints about the bastard who’s instigating against him.’
Since he lives in this novel, I thought he could figure out who it was just from hints.
Clenching my fist, damp with sweat, I met the student’s gaze. First, I needed to know which character I had become in the novel. That way, I could naturally approach Choi Jeha.
In reality, I couldn’t resolve anything and had to spend three whole years in pain. Knowing that suffering, I wanted to save a character who was being bullied without reason, even if only in a dream.
But there was just one character among them who couldn’t do that. Anyone but that person would be fine.
“Hey.”
I nudged the arm of the student next to me. He looked at me with fierce eyes that slanted upward without double eyelids. Seeing how we hung out together, we must be friends, but his eyes didn’t look like they were looking at a friend at all.
Something felt off, but since the situation was too ambiguous to say we weren’t friends, I just asked.
“What was my name again?”
At my question, his brow furrowed. Understandably so-after spending school days together for months or even years, it would be baffling if someone suddenly asked for their name, especially asking what their own name was. But since this was just a dream, there was nothing to hold me back.
“What are you talking about, you crazy bastard.”
“Ah, quickly,”
As the night grows later, options for teenagers to hang out become more limited. Although I didn’t want to be too concerned about location since this was just a dream, the sensations were so vivid that, paradoxically, realistic worries also came to mind. So I needed to quickly assess the situation, rescue Choi Jeha who would be locked up somewhere, and then find a place for me to rest-that is, where I should stay until I returned to my original world. To do that, asking directly was the most accurate and fastest way.
After a brief pause, he opened his mouth.
“You? Cha-chingae.”
The students with us snickered. But I couldn’t laugh. The moment I heard those words, my blood ran cold.
<*Gong2: Cha Eunseong
#beta->recessive omega #scheming alpha #puppy alpha #powder alpha
Third-year student in class 2 at Raon Jena High School. Main instigator of bullying. Human scum. Trash personality, also called Cha-chingae, his evil actions gradually worsen as he becomes jealous of Kim Juyoung only caring for Choi Jeha. Dies after being cornered by Choi Jeha.>
I’m doomed.
Of all things, why did I have to dream of becoming the craziest character!
An acute headache came over me, and I brought my fist to my forehead. Cha Eunseong not only bullied Choi Jeha during school days but was also responsible for the death of his only family member, his grandmother. And because of that, he eventually lost everything and self-destructed.
The target of Choi Jeha’s revenge. In short, Cha Eunseong was the most inappropriate character to approach Choi Jeha with good intentions.
‘This is driving me crazy.’
Exactly, my current feeling was expressed in one sentence.
“What’s wrong with that guy since earlier?”
“Whoa, did he get possessed by a ghost in the classroom?”
The students who had been looking at me with contemptuous eyes turned away, snickering “For exorcism, you need a gun game,” and suggesting they go to an internet cafe. While watching their backs with eyes filled with despair, I reached for my chest pocket as if to deny the situation.
When I inserted my fingers, I felt something rough and square.
High school students typically carry their name tags in their chest or pants pockets, so I checked and was right.
Please don’t let it be true. Hoping it was just a similar nickname, I quickly pulled out the name tag.
However, the moment I confirmed the name, a chill ran from my skull down my spine to my pelvis. Wondering if I had seen wrong, I checked again with furrowed brows, but the three characters “Cha Eun-seong” were clearly embroidered.
