My Lord Chapter 10
by ArianaReturning to the mansion, I greeted the servants before heading to my room. Once there, I sat down on the dust-covered bed.
There are eight servants working here, excluding me.
For a mansion this large, it was an incredibly small number, yet it somehow managed to stay functional. The kitchen assistant handled the laundry, and the cleaning staff took care of the garden as well.
Because there are so few, it’ll be easier to identify the spy.
But there was a problem.
There was no one suspicious except the head chef.
Honestly, the likelihood of the head chef being a spy was very low. If they truly were a spy, they wouldn’t have been so brazenly embezzling ice for personal gain.
In other words, there was no one who could be listed as a suspect at the moment.
As I pondered deeply for a while, a slightly troublesome but reliable solution came to mind.
I’ll have to meet with each person at least once.
And secretly cast a tracking spell on them. Since I’m better at utilizing magic now, it should work.
When I first found myself in this body, I didn’t know how to use magic or how to manage mana.
It was like starting with a blank slate.
But as time passed, the memories related to the original “Reina Khan’s” magic gradually seeped into me. Because of that, I’ve started to use her magic bit by bit.
I still don’t know why she died or how I came to possess her body, but thanks to Reina Khan’s memories as a great mage, using tracking spells wasn’t difficult. With this, it wouldn’t take long to uncover the spy.
I’ll cast the tracking spell during tomorrow’s morning roll call.
With my plan set, I slowly rose from the bed.
The food I had ordered should have arrived by now, so Sedian would be eating. That meant he wouldn’t be calling for me anytime soon.
So…
“Let’s clean up a bit.”
I’m going to die if I keep living here like this.
The room, laden with a gloomy atmosphere, was damp and dotted with mold in several places. The thick dust and cobwebs were enough to give me a headache just by looking at them.
How on earth did anyone live in a place like this?
“Where do I even begin cleaning…?”
I contemplated whether to secretly use magic.
“Butler! You’re here! I’ve been looking all over for you! I heard you came back, but I couldn’t figure out where you were.”
The door suddenly burst open, and Daisy popped her head in.
“What’s the matter?”
Why was Daisy looking for me outside of roll call hours? Worried that something might have happened to Sedian, I asked, only to receive an unexpected reply.
“You need to move rooms. Just pack your bags and come out! Ugh, this place is always filthy no matter when I see it!”
“…Excuse me?”
Not understanding the context, I hesitated slightly. Daisy chuckled and explained.
“The young master ordered it. He wants your room moved.”
“…The young master? Why?”
“No idea.”
With a mischievous smile, Daisy gave me a sly wink.
“Doesn’t it mean the young master likes you enough to want you close by?”
I blinked in disbelief, my mouth slightly agape.
Our young master? Liking me? That couldn’t be right…
Wasn’t he cursing at me and throwing me out just this morning? And now, suddenly?
“Your new room is next to the young master’s. No one’s ever been assigned the room next to his before!”
Goodness!
What fortune.
I’d been pondering how to get closer to Sedian and find an opportunity to cure him, and now this golden opportunity landed right in my lap!
Living in the adjacent room would mean more chances to meet him. That might allow me to carry out my plans to curse him even faster.
Our young master.
He really must like me.
Heh, I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Shall I pack, then?”
“Let’s do that.”
I gave Daisy a thumbs-up and began packing in a hurry.
Curing him, catching the spy—there was still a lot to do, but everything seemed to be falling into place.

Knock, knock.
“Come in.”
Before Sedian’s words were even finished, the door swung open, and I entered. It seemed dinner had just ended, as Sedian was putting down his cutlery. A quick glance at the plate revealed no leftovers.
“It seems the food suited your taste. That’s a relief.”
“…I ate it because it was there. It was just okay.”
For something that was just “okay,” the plate looked far too clean—almost as if he’d scraped every last bit off it.
“I hear it tastes even better at the restaurant. How about we go there together next time? There are more menu options, and I’ll guide you.”
“……”
Sedian didn’t respond. Instead, he stared at me intently.
His gaze was still inscrutable. The cold blue of his eyes, with tiny, shimmering dots glinting like starlight, was striking yet unreadable.
But that was all. There was no trace of emotion. No joy, no sadness, no anger—his eyes betrayed none of it. They were like a serene lake undisturbed by any wind.
For some reason, the tension was palpable. I slowly blinked, maintaining eye contact with him.
“I’d like to take a peek inside your head.”
After staring at me for a long while, Sedian suddenly said.
“Pardon?”
“That way, I’d know what absurd thoughts you’re having. No, wait—you seem like the type who doesn’t think at all.”
“What? Why are you suddenly being so harsh…”
“Enough. Why are you here?”
With arms crossed, Sedian asked.
“Ah.”
Scratching the back of my head, I replied.
“I came to thank you for moving my room.”
“…I see.”
“I didn’t even ask for it, yet you somehow understood my feelings and did such a thoughtful thing for me. I’d gladly lay down my life for you, my lord.”
“Just stop at that.”
I couldn’t.
Because I was overwhelmed with emotion right now.
I had been at a complete loss about how to endure my remaining time in that filthy room, but thanks to Sedian, I’d been freed!
“To be honest, that room was so, so, ridiculously dirty that I was debating whether to clean it or just set it on fire to sterilize it and then lay down new flooring. But you went ahead and moved me!”
I grinned and winked at Sedian.
“You feel more at ease with me nearby, don’t you? That’s why you put me in the room next door, right?”
“What nonsense…”
“Well, if that’s not the case, you could’ve given me a room on the first floor or in the annex like the other servants. But you put me right next door. It makes me think.”
With a snap of my fingers, I declared:
“Does my lord like me?”
“Hey!”
Leaning against the bed’s headboard, Sedian shot up, shouting. His face was flushed red as he pointed at me.
“You, you…! How dare you say such a thing…!”
His face looked like a ripe tomato, ready to burst.
Seeing him unable to hide his embarrassment made me want to tease him more.
“Why? What’s wrong? People can like other people, rely on them, can’t they?”
“Get out.”
“I understand your feelings. I like you too, my lord.”
“Get out, you lunatic!”
Sedian, his face still bright red, threw a cushion at me, but I easily dodged it. How could I possibly get hit by such a blind attack?
“I’ll stay by your side and serve you well. Just trust me.”
I patted my chest and laughed boldly.
“I love you, my lord.”
“Get out!”
I dodged another cushion that came flying at me and left the room.
Seeing his huffing, flustered face, I became more certain of what Daisy had told me. He really did seem to like me.
The tension I had felt earlier seemed like a mere illusion as I recalled his animated reaction, stepping out with a satisfied grin.

The room newly assigned to me was a space filled with elegance and grandeur.
The wallpaper, a cream base adorned with delicate golden patterns, added warmth and brightness to the room. A large, wide window let in a cool, salty breeze.
In the center of the room was a massive four-poster bed. Surrounded by an ornate canopy and elegant lace curtains, the bed was piled high with soft pillows and fluffy blankets.
There was also a marble fireplace, luxurious decorations, and a plush leather sofa—all clear indicators that this room had been used for guests.
“I’m not sure if I deserve to stay in a place like this.”
Before this possession, I had lived in a tiny one-room boarding house. After the possession, I had crammed myself into secret hideouts with friends. A “room” had never been a place for rest, merely somewhere to close my eyes.
But now, such an extravagant space was my room?
“Money really is the best.”
I sank into the sofa, leaning my head back to gaze at the ceiling.
Come to think of it, I hadn’t thought about what to do after lifting Sedian’s curse.
I’d have to escape first. Once the curse was lifted, Sedian would figure out who I really was.
And after escaping…
What should I do?
