“Now, think about it and smile again.”

Tenesia let go of the child’s side, which she had been tickling. The child’s flexible body quickly returned to its original position.

A natural smile replaced the tension on the child’s face. Tenesia ruffled Arden’s hair.

    “Now, let’s really try again.”

Instead of tickling his side, Tenesia placed her hand on Arden’s shoulder.

“Straighten your back… and keep your arms from swinging too much.”

She gently adjusted his posture to ensure his spine was straight, then gave him a light push.

Arden began moving forward. His steps were slower than before, but his posture had changed dramatically.

His previously hunched shoulders were now straightened, and his wobbly stance looked much more stable.

Most importantly, his expression looked happy. The unpretentious expression actually showcased his innocent nature.

His nose, which looked exactly like Dietrich’s, lifted in confidence. At the same time, a bright smile appeared on Tenesia’s face.

    “Huh?”

Tenesia spotted glowing orbs around the smiling child and opened her mouth in surprise. If her eyes weren’t mistaken, they were definitely spirits.

Since she hadn’t called any spirits today, it couldn’t be Anima or Nympha, the ones with whom she had made a contract. So, what was the spirit floating next to the child?

“I did well this time, didn’t I? Right?”

    “You did well.”

Before Tenesia could finish her thoughts, Arden eagerly asked, and Tenesia showered him with praise. A sense of pride appeared on the innocent child’s face.

“But, young master, do you see anything around you?”

    “Anything around me?”

Arden looked around, turning his head.

“What kind of thing? Are you talking about the wind?”

Arden didn’t even notice the spirit floating right next to him.

‘Maybe his powers aren’t fully unlocked yet.’

Considering it had materialized, it was likely influenced by Arden’s power to some degree. Tenesia ruffled Arden’s hair, brushing it off as nothing.

In Akelart, it was customary for children to be helped to see spirits once they reached a certain age. Grace had met Nympha through her father.

For Arden’s future, it might be good for him to see spirits, especially since he had Akelart blood in him.

But this wasn’t Akelart, and there were no organization to assist in the process here.

Most importantly, if she acted recklessly, her true identity might be exposed.

“…Now that I look again, I think it’s just dust flying around. I must have mistaken it.”

Even if Arden didn’t realize the spirit’s existence, there was no harm done to him. That alone was enough. Perhaps it wouldn’t be so bad if Arden became the first child in Akelart who couldn’t see spirits.

At a late hour, a man, full of energy, crossed the drawbridge, almost leaping over it, and dismounted from his horse. The horse’s hooves scattered dust in the air.

    “You’ve arrived.”

    “Where is Countess Olbeira?”

“She already left in the morning.”

    “Is that so?”

Dietrich didn’t add anything more. If she had left the castle, it meant she had gotten what she wanted.

He had already known that  Tenesia couldn’t stop Countess Olbeira.

Being Dietrich’s sister, she had a strict and stubborn nature. It was also the same when she raised Dietrich.

Her domineering ways had oppressed Dietrich’s every action. Just the fact that he had taken away the ‘heir’ position from her had her demanding lifelong atonement.

For some reason, Tenesia had been looking forward to meeting Arden. He hoped that, despite not being able to stop her, he wouldn’t be blamed for the absence left by Arden.

The man, having passed through the unusually fragrant garden, pushed open the door.

    “You’ve… arrived…”

Hearing the slightly unfamiliar but welcoming voice, Dietrich’s eyes widened.

It was Arden’s voice. Dietrich froze at the sight of the child who greeted him for the first time.

    “Where is Countess Olbeira?”

“She went home. She said she would see us again at the wedding.”

    “Who said that?”

    “Tenesia did.”

After causing all that commotion, she didn’t even take Arden with her?

The surprise didn’t stop there. The child, who had turned around, ran toward someone and was immediately embraced by Tenesia, who smiled warmly.

    “Welcome.”
