Park Hyun-woo didn’t even manage to let out a proper scream. His body instinctively tried to collapse, but Yoon Si-chan still had a firm grip on his cheek, keeping him dangling.

Then, Yoon Si-chan pulled his fist back—

    And hit him again.

The repeated thud of his punches echoed, and as I listened, it reminded me of the time I got the shit beaten out of me by Yoon Si-chan.

Seeing blood burst from Park Hyun-woo’s lips, my own face started aching in sympathy, but—

At the end of the day, it wasn’t me getting hit this time.

So I might as well enjoy the show.

Park Hyun-woo was only freed after exactly eight punches.

He collapsed instantly, face down, clutching his swollen cheek as he started crying.

Yoon Si-chan, as if completely unaffected, casually dusted the blood off his fist.

Then his gaze swept across the room, scanning everyone—

He was looking for the next idiot to force into opening the door.

    “Fuck!”

The moment Yoon Si-chan’s gaze landed on me, the curse slipped out before I could stop it.

For a split second, he hesitated.

That brief pause was fucking terrifying—

But thankfully, his eyes didn’t stay on me.

Instead, they locked onto Seo Jae-jun, who was fidgeting anxiously.

    “Hey.”

Seo Jae-jun immediately averted his gaze and tried to step back.

But the second Yoon Si-chan took a step forward, he squeezed his eyes shut and hurriedly spoke.

    “Wait! Okay—okay! I’ll open it!”

Yoon Si-chan gestured toward the door with a nod, like he was saying, Then hurry the fuck up.

Seo Jae-jun let out a shaky breath and grabbed the doorknob.

For the first time, I started feeling a little concerned.

At this point, Yoon Si-chan must have racked up a shitload of grudges.

There was a chance these guys might try to take him down the second they had a chance.

    And if that happened—

I’d be the next one to get fucked.

    “What are you waiting for?”

Yoon Si-chan’s voice snapped Seo Jae-jun out of his hesitation.

Still trembling, he nodded and slowly began to open the door.

Beyond the widening gap, all I could see was a blood-splattered wall.

The zombies that had followed us to the broadcasting room were nowhere in sight.

    Made sense.

The speakers were inside the classrooms, so any zombies lurking in the hall had probably been lured inside.

It was an obvious outcome—something anyone with a brain could have predicted.

So why the fuck did Yoon Si-chan, a guy obsessed with efficiency, go out of his way to use brute force just to make someone open the door?

Peering beyond the doorway, Seo Jae-jun let out a relieved sigh.

His chest rose and fell as he tapped it with his fist, like he was trying to calm himself down.

He looked like a fucking orangutan.

    It pissed me off.

Fuck, everything he did pissed me off.

    “There’s nothing… nothing here…”

Seo Jae-jun glanced at Yoon Si-chan and muttered under his breath.

Yoon Si-chan shoved his shoulder aside with the back of his hand and stepped forward.

Walking between those bastards felt like a surefire way to get shoved straight into the zombies and die.

I quickly followed behind Yoon Si-chan, and the rest of them trailed behind at a sluggish pace.

Park Hyun-woo staggered along, still clutching his swollen cheek.

The hallway was nothing but blood and shredded flesh—not a single zombie in sight.

Through the open door of the counseling room, I could see zombies piled in front of the speaker, worked up into a frenzy.

From the opposite corridor and the lower floors, the endless sounds of zombies groaning and thrashing echoed.

At some point, the staircase leading down came into view.

The zombies Yoon Si-chan had wrecked earlier were gone—either they’d gotten up and wandered off, or something else had dragged them away.

Moving swiftly, Yoon Si-chan reached the staircase and, without breaking stride, snatched up his baseball bat from where he had left it.

The others, despite seeing that the zombies had scattered, were still pissing themselves and dragged their feet behind us.

By the time I had already stepped down with Yoon Si-chan, they were just barely setting foot on the stairs.

It was infuriatingly slow. I wanted to kill them.

Despite my worries, we made it down the staircase without issue.

The broadcasting room had been on the fifth floor, and before I knew it, we were already on the third.

Yoon Si-chan took the stairs two at a time, moving fast but occasionally glancing back to check if the others were still following.

The fact that he didn’t look at me at all was comforting.

At the very least, those assholes were still the first to die if anything went wrong.

I wouldn’t become bait until after they were all dead.

    Yoon Si-chan moved smoothly downward—

But then, right at the staircase leading to the second floor, he stopped.

The moment I peeked over his shoulder, my stomach twisted violently.

I clenched my lips together to stop myself from throwing up.

A heap of five or six corpses, their faces and intestines completely ripped apart, blocked the way.

Their faces were so mangled that it was impossible to tell who they had been.

Thick, red intestines spilled out from their open torsos, still glistening with fresh blood that hadn’t yet congealed.

It was so much worse than Lee Kyung-bin’s body.

    “Ugh… fuck…”

    This was fucking disgusting.

I clenched my throat, forcing down the nausea, and turned away.

If they weren’t even able to turn into zombies and just died like that, it meant they were eaten alive.

Just thinking about it was fucking horrifying.

A chill ran through my entire body, and I scratched furiously at the back of my hand.

The late stragglers caught up, all of them cursing under their breaths as they instinctively backed away.

“What the fuck is that, shit…!”

Seo Jae-jun, completely panicked, shouted as he grabbed onto my shoulder.

    “Ah, fuck off.”

I was already on the verge of throwing up, and this bastard wasn’t helping.

I shoved his hand off roughly, and he immediately started whining about what the hell we were supposed to do.

Now I really understood why Yoon Si-chan got so pissed when I was making noise earlier.

Yoon Si-chan, who had been standing still for a moment, suddenly picked up a broom that had been lying near the stairs and tossed it to me.

    “What.”

I caught the broom that had been lazily thrown my way and shot him a questioning look.

Yoon Si-chan gestured toward the pile of corpses and ordered—

    “Push them.”

Obviously I know I have to push them, dumbass.

What I meant was, why the hell aren’t you making those other assholes do it?

I wanted to say it, but I knew arguing would be pointless, so I kept my mouth shut.

Yoon Si-chan approached the pile of corpses and shoved his baseball bat deep into the mess of spilled intestines.

One of the bodies, which had been stuck against the railing, finally tumbled down.

    “Fucking… shit…”

Still feeling deeply wronged, I followed suit and started pushing the corpses with the broom.

The others were too busy holding back vomit to be any help—

And one of the three useless extras finally gave up and just puked all over the floor.

At last, the pile of bodies collapsed, clearing the way.

Without missing a beat, Yoon Si-chan kicked aside the remaining corpses and started running downstairs.

The second floor was several times worse than the third—

Blood and torn flesh splattered everywhere.

Moving quickly, we finally reached the first floor.

    And right there—

Under the speaker set up at the main entrance—

A horde of zombies was swarming.

    “Hey, fuck! What the hell?!”

Fuck, we can’t get out. We’re screwed.
My mind went blank, and I stopped in place, shouting.

“We have to go to the back gate, you fucking idiot.”

Yoon Si-chan, looking frustrated to death, slightly furrowed his brows and turned toward the left hallway.

This time, it wasn’t just idiot, but fucking idiot. I got an upgraded insult, but the mention of the back gate, which I had forgotten about, gave me relief.

As I hurriedly ran after Yoon Si-chan, the bastards following behind flinched at the sight of the gathered zombies but ended up following me.

It was at that moment. The noise that had been echoing throughout the entire school suddenly cut off without warning.

Yoon Si-chan, who had been running toward the narrow door at the end of the left hallway, abruptly stopped, and I crashed my face into the back of his neck, coming to a halt as well.

Fuck, we’re so fucking screwed. The curse almost slipped out, but I bit my lip hard to hold it back. The taste of blood spread inside my mouth.

The ones who had been following slowly also seemed to understand that making a sound would get us all killed, as they clamped their lips shut and stared wide-eyed.

The zombies inside the classrooms slowly turned their heads, looking confused. The entire school fell silent in an instant.

The classroom doors right in front of us were all wide open. If we took even a single step, those zombie bastards would lunge at us all at once. There had been about ten upstairs, but here, each classroom seemed to have at least thirty.

This was truly, completely fucked. There was no way to survive this.

Even that heartless psycho looked scared, gripping his baseball bat tightly as he slowly scanned his surroundings. His deeply furrowed brows showed that even Yoon Si-chan hadn’t expected this situation.

You son of a bitch. You’re the one who wanted to go out. You’re the one who played that fucking sound. This is all because of you, Yoon Si-chan. This is your fault. You should die instead.

My whole body started trembling, starting from my hands. The torn-apart, still-living bodies I had seen earlier flashed through my mind. Just as I was holding my breath, trying not to make a sound, Yoon Si-chan, who had been scanning the area quickly, suddenly fixed his gaze on something right in front of me.

His face was right in front of mine.

Yoon Si-chan’s pupils, which had been darting around wildly, suddenly froze. His furrowed brows slowly relaxed, and his expression became calm.

That was the look of someone who had made a decision. That bastard had come up with a plan.

He was going to throw me to the zombies.

I have to live. Fuck, I want to live. The world was already a shitty place, and now it had become even more fucked, but still—I desperately wanted to survive.

I had to push Yoon Si-chan first. I had to take him down before he could take me. But my body, frozen in panic, refused to move.

Before I could act, Yoon Si-chan grabbed me by the collar.

    Save me. Fuck. Save me.

The moment I realized I was about to die, all thoughts of wanting to kill Yoon Si-chan disappeared. All that remained was the desperate plea to be spared.

He wasn’t throwing me right away—maybe he was waiting for the right moment. I took that chance to move my lips frantically. Save me. Fuck, save me.
