IZSTASL Chapter 5
by BreePark Hyun-woo, who had been watching Seo Jae-jun scream desperately, suddenly lunged at Yoon Si-chan—only to be met with a brutal kick to the gut, sending him collapsing to the floor.
The other guys hesitated, backing away as they anxiously watched Yoon Si-chan’s next move.
Seo Jae-jun’s upper body had completely disappeared below the window ledge, and only his legs, flailing wildly, remained visible.
Good. Fucking good. Just kill him already.
“I swear, I swear I’m sorry! I’ll do anything! Please, let me live!”
Ignoring his pathetic begging, Yoon Si-chan kept his gaze fixed straight ahead.
Then, without warning—
He let go.
Wait. Shit. He’s actually killing him.
Seo Jae-jun let out a blood-curdling scream, his voice blending with the blaring static from the speakers as his body tilted forward, about to plunge down—
But right before he fell, Yoon Si-chan grabbed him by the ankle and, with zero effort, yanked him back up.
Seo Jae-jun barely managed to throw his upper body onto the window ledge, his arms desperately reaching out for help.
One of the three terrified guys finally stepped forward and grabbed his hand—only for Yoon Si-chan to yank him by the hair and slam his face onto the floor.
First, he drops him. Then he saves him.
This crazy bastard just does whatever the fuck he wants.
Seo Jae-jun lay sprawled out, clutching his chest and gasping for air.
The never-ending static buzzing through the speakers was unbearable, but Yoon Si-chan hadn’t even acknowledged it.
Instead, he had been staring outside the window the entire time.
The fuck is he looking at?
Curious, I approached, keeping my ears covered.
Seo Jae-jun’s twitching form in front of me was annoying, so I kicked him out of the way.
Park Hyun-woo was still groaning, clutching his stomach.
Peering over Yoon Si-chan’s shoulder, I finally saw it—
A swarm of zombies crowding around the speakers in the schoolyard.
The ones that had been roaming near the windows had now gathered near the cafeteria’s speaker system, excited and agitated.
Each and every zombie had split up and clustered around a different speaker.
And just like that, I finally understood why he had blasted the sound in the first place.
Still—there was no other noise you could’ve used, dumbass? My ears are fucking dying.
Yoon Si-chan, on the other hand, stood there completely unbothered, observing the scene like he couldn’t hear a damn thing.
I leaned over his shoulder to get a better look outside—
And at that moment, he suddenly turned his head.
“Ah, fuck!”
I almost smashed my lips against his and let out a scream. Give a fucking warning before you turn, asshole. I almost had to cut my lips off.
Yoon Si-chan’s face, right in front of mine, was expressionless and annoyingly composed. Staring at him made me want to spit in his face.
Even with zombies crawling outside, the urge to fuck him over surged up inside me. For now, I had to suppress it for the sake of survival.
“Move.”
“Huh? Oh, fuck…”
Yoon Si-chan, who had been quietly staring at me, suddenly spat out the words. For a moment, I had no idea what he wanted me to move, so I hesitated like an idiot before quickly backing away.
What, am I the only disgusting one here? Rude piece of shit.
Even after I stepped back, Yoon Si-chan still pushed my shoulder aside with his hand before stepping into the broadcasting booth.
Finally, that fucking noise stopped. The zombies crowded around the speakers froze, then started glancing around in confusion.
Yoon Si-chan stepped out of the booth again and scanned the room. In front of him were Seo Jae-jun, crouched over while clutching his throat, Park Hyun-woo, awkwardly hunched over and holding his stomach, and the three others, stiff against the wall, completely frozen.
I stood beside Yoon Si-chan, cautiously watching.
His eyes flicked downward, as if lost in thought, before suddenly turning his head toward me.
His left arm slowly started to rise.
On instinct, I flinched, shrinking my shoulders and raising my hands to shield my neck.
Yoon Si-chan’s face briefly showed surprise before he turned his head away and laughed, rubbing the back of his own neck with the arm he had just raised.
Fuck. That was embarrassing as hell.
“Let’s go in ten minutes.”
The moment his laugh faded, Yoon Si-chan started talking again in that same calm, irritating voice.
This psychopath.
He actually wanted to go back out there into the middle of the zombie-infested hellhole.
“Fuck, why?”
“We’re done here.”
“The fuck do you mean? Where the hell are we even supposed to go?”
“First, we need to leave the school, dumbass.”
“Then what about them?”
I asked, wondering if he was finally going to slice them up.
I had been expecting it.
Yoon Si-chan glanced at them once, then turned his gaze back to me, staring intently.
The look in his eyes was as if to say, What do you expect me to do about it?
I scowled, at a loss for words.
At that moment, Seo Jae-jun, who had been coughing nonstop while listening to our conversation, suddenly spoke up.
“Hey… y-you guys are just gonna leave without us?”
His voice trembled at the end.
“Why.”
Yoon Si-chan’s response came immediately.
Seo Jae-jun hesitated, shifting his gaze to Park Hyun-woo.
Still clutching his stomach in pain, Park Hyun-woo cautiously opened his mouth.
“Uh… the broadcasting room noise… I was actually thinking the same thing… Can we go with you?”
“Fuck off, dumbass.”
It was a ridiculous question, not even worth considering.
There were five of them and only two of us.
If shit went south, we’d be the ones getting thrown to the zombies.
“At least have some fucking backbone. First, you try to kick us out, screaming that we’re bitten—and now this, huh? Fuck off.”
Seo Jae-jun flinched at my words, hesitating.
After a moment of uncertainty, he finally mumbled, awkwardly forcing his mouth open.
“Look, hey… I—I’m sorry about earlier. I kept watching, and… it doesn’t seem like you were bitten…”
He avoided my gaze, mumbling awkwardly. As I scowled at the bullshit spilling from his mouth, Park Hyun-woo added another comment.
“But wouldn’t having more people be better for you too…?”
“You count leeches as headcount now?”
Seo Jae-jun and Park Hyun-woo ignored me, staring at Yoon Si-chan with desperate eyes.
Was this asshole actually considering it?
He just stood there, silently watching them.
“…….”
Fucking unbelievable.
This guy, who looked like he could stab someone without a second thought, spared Seo Jae-jun earlier—and now he was just standing there tolerating this?
“Hey, Yoon Si-chan. These bastards are—”
“Then follow us.”
What the fuck.
I had barely finished tattling on them, pointing like a little snitch, when Yoon Si-chan completely ignored me and spat out that dogshit response.
Seo Jae-jun and Park Hyun-woo’s faces lit up, quickly mumbling their thanks.
Even the three other nobodies standing around like background props visibly relaxed.
Honestly, fuck everything else—just watching these assholes get happy pissed me off.
I grabbed Yoon Si-chan’s arm just as he started heading toward the broadcasting booth, probably to turn the speakers back on.
“You out of your fucking mind? What, you got a thing for leeches now?”
“Let go.”
His eyes made it clear—if I didn’t let go right now, he’d fucking hit me.
I let go of his arm without a fuss and muttered,
“So what the hell are you even doing, fuck?”
“You can’t tell just by looking?”
“No, why the fuck are you bringing those idiots with us?! They’re fucking useless!”
“You’re the most useless one here, dumbass.”
Fucking bastard.
I clenched my teeth, biting hard into the inside of my cheek.
As soon as the situation improved, I swore I’d find a way to take down Yoon Si-chan.
That goddamn noise started blaring again, and I could see Seo Jae-jun and Park Hyun-woo barely holding back their laughter as they looked at me.
Heat rose to my face. My clenched fists trembled.
It’s fine. I’ll kill them.
Just endure it. I’ll push them. Straight into the zombies. I’ll shove them first. They’re not even useful like Yoon Si-chan.
Yoon Si-chan briefly explained that we were heading down to the first floor before stepping back into the broadcasting booth to mess with the equipment again.
Peeking inside, I noticed that all the computers were completely wrecked, their monitors shattered and smeared with blood.
Only then did I take a proper look around—the whole place was a fucking mess. Blood splattered everywhere, desks overturned. Clearly, shit had gone down here too.
Yoon Si-chan twisted the mic, and that ear-piercing static rang out again.
I had been wondering where the hell he got that sound from, but apparently, he wasn’t playing a recording—he was manually making the noise by twisting the mic himself.
After twisting it several times, he jammed it between the switch gaps of the broadcasting machine, locking it in place.
When the ten minutes were finally up, Yoon Si-chan stepped out of the booth.
He glanced out the window, checking that the zombies had swarmed the speakers, then turned to Park Hyun-woo and spoke.
“Hey.”
“Huh?”
“You open the door.”
“Huh? Me?”
Park Hyun-woo, clearly not expecting it, hesitated mid-motion as he was getting up, responding with a dumbfounded expression.
Thank fucking god.
I was scared he’d shove me first again.
Yoon Si-chan’s expression twisted slightly as he strode toward Park Hyun-woo. The guy blinked rapidly like a dumbass, his eyes darting around in panic.
He was definitely about to grab him by the collar, force him to open the door, and shove him outside.
This was one of those rare moments when Yoon Si-chan being a complete psycho was actually helpful.
But instead of grabbing his collar—
He clamped his hand tightly around Park Hyun-woo’s left cheek.
His other hand curled into a fist—
And slammed into his face.
Thud!
The punch was so loud it cut through the static blaring from the speakers.
Seo Jae-jun and the other guys gasped and scattered in shock.
I, on the other hand, clapped my hands together and burst out laughing.
Serves you right, dumbass.
