Chapter 48. Leo and Jaina, Adel and Lilian

Considering that the Crown Prince had said he would give her the power for the Hunting Festival or something, it seemed inevitable that she would set up a barrier during the important Hunting Festival.

Even though she was staying in the North, the North was also part of the Empire, so she couldn’t disobey the Crown Prince’s orders. Although Leo tried his best to stop it, he couldn’t refuse the part about setting up the barrier.

Jaina thought about that, and started to look through the book diligently, wanting to at least find out that Lilian’s words were false.

    Knock knock.

Jaina and Leo’s eyes turned to the door at the same time at the sudden knock.

    “Who is it?”

At Leo’s question, the door opened wide and his aide Rydel came in. He said to Leo with a puzzled expression.

“You should come out right now.”

    “What’s going on?”

“His Highness the Crown Prince has arrived.  The Imperial Saintess came with him.”

Jaina and Leo looked at each other at the same time at Rydel’s words. She, who went down to the reception room with Leo, widened her eyes when she saw Adel and Lilian sitting side by side on the reception room sofa and talking.

Jaina felt nervous without realizing it, seeing Lilian’s appearance, which was much more beautiful than in the palace. She had been relieved that if she kept Leo from going to the palace, Lilian and him would never meet. But she was caught off guard.

Jaina followed Leo and sat across from them without being able to control her expression.

    “What brought you here?”

As soon as Leo sat down, he asked Adel.

    “You’re still so impatient.”

Adel let out a hollow laugh at Leo, who asked why he came without even asking how he was doing.

    “Why did you come?”

“Since you left without even finishing the conversation, I had no choice but to come here myself.”

    “What conversation?”

“Didn’t I ask the Northern Saint to help with the safety of the Hunting Festival?”

“You only need to put up a barrier in the area where the Hunting Festival is being held, so why do you have to use my saint’s power?”

“I told you. Every year, someone dies or gets hurt during the Hunting Festival. I plan to make sure that doesn’t happen during this Hunting Festival that I’m hosting.”

Leo turned his head to look at Jaina at Adel’s words. She also met Leo’s eyes without saying anything.

“I would like the Northern Saint to help you put up a barrier with Lilian. Of course, this isn’t a request. It’s an order from the Crown Prince of the Empire.”

“If it’s the Emperor’s order, I’ll take it. The only one who can give me orders is His Majesty the Emperor.”

“I’m not giving orders to you, I’m giving orders to the Saint.”

    “Leo.”

    “The Northern Saint is mine.”

“A saint doesn’t belong to one person.”

When Adel immediately refuted his words, one corner of Leo’s mouth went up.

“Can you say that to Eddie and Kyle right now?”

Adel’s face hardened at that. They were already engaged in a war of nerves to take over Lilian, so what Adel said to Leo was awkward. When Adel became embarrassed, Lilian, who had been sitting quietly and staring at Leo’s face, opened her mouth.

“Since it’s for the Empire, I believe you will definitely help me.”

“Isn’t it the position of the Saint of the Empire to trust me?”

When Leo responded to Lilian’s words in a cold, almost gusty voice, Lilian, who was momentarily flustered, forced a smile and said.

“It seems like His Highness hates me. Why is that?”

Leo let out a small laugh at Lilian’s words.

“What do you mean that I hate you? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care at all.”

At those words, Lilian’s face hardened.

“Why are you so sharp, Leo?”

Adel also tried to smile as he told him that Leo was too much. He clicked his tongue as if telling Adel to listen to everything.

“So, what exactly do you want?”

“I told the Northern Saint, but I want the barrier for this hunting festival to be really strong. Did you hear from Lilian? The first time one received holy power from another royal member.”

Leo and Jaina’s faces hardened at the same time at Adel’s words.

“So, I want you, who didn’t give the holy power to Lilian, to give it to her. I will give the holy power to the Northern Saint…….”

    “Shut up and get out.”

Leo grabbed Jaina’s hand and said, lifting her up.

    “Leo.”

“Please, let’s just finish this hunting festival properly!”

Lilian also got up and shouted urgently.

“This is the first hunting festival that His Highness the Crown Prince has been in charge of. If this hunting festival is finished properly, His Highness the Crown Prince’s position will be solidified, of course…”

“Are you really doing this for His Highness the Crown Prince?”

At that moment, Jaina interrupted Lilian and asked. She could clearly see that she was desperate to have Leo, but she was saying that she was doing this for the Crown Prince. She was shocked and the words just came out naturally.

Lilian stared at Jaina with a hardened face and answered.

“Of course. All of this is for His Highness the Crown Prince.”

‘You always glare at me as if you’re going to kill me.’

Jaina was really dumbfounded by the fact that Lilian’s behavior, which had been so gentle towards her in the palace, had changed so drastically.

“Is there any evidence to support the idea that the power you receive from another is the strongest?”

Jaina’s question made Lilian’s expression harden slightly.

“I’ve read many ancient books since I returned from the palace, but I haven’t found anything like that. To be honest, I didn’t feel the difference between the power I received from Leo the first time.”

“Oh, I felt it. It seems that you didn’t feel it. Maybe you didn’t feel it because you only received the power of His Grace the Grand Duke.”

Jaina stared at Lilian, who was throwing the ‘I felt it myself’ statement. Honestly, this situation didn’t harm her at all. Whether what she said was true or fake, her goal was to receive Leo’s power, so she had nothing to regret.

If Jaina were to receive the power from the crown prince, it would be an opportunity to get rid of her who was stuck to Leo like a piece of gum. Jaina bit the tender flesh in her mouth, thinking that no matter how this situation turned out, Lilian wouldn’t be particularly harmed.

She thought about how to resolve this situation smoothly.

“It doesn’t seem like something that can be decided in a day or two, so give us some time.”

Adel said, getting up from the sofa.

“We’ll stay here until we decide, so give us a room.”

Jaina’s eyes widened to the point of popping out at his words.

‘No, you guys, did you come here with the intention of staying here?!’

    ***

Adel and Lilian said that they would stay in the castle until Leo agreed to give Lilian the power and the crown prince agreed to give his power to Jaina.

He contacted the emperor to send them back, but the emperor said that if Adel, who was busy trying to become the next emperor, went to the north, there must be a reason. He then ordered them to stay, ,so Leo had no choice but to give them a room.

Jaina wanted them to stay on a different floor, not the one where all the rooms were connected to Leo’s room. But the only room the Grand Duchy could give to the royal family was the floor where Leo’s bedroom was, so they ended up staying on the same floor.

Since she was already staying in Leo’s room, she didn’t have to worry too much about Adel and Lilian. However, she couldn’t help feeling uneasy in many ways, so she just kept sighing.

    “It’s not in the book.”

Leo, who was constantly looking through the book to find out if what Lilian had said was true, said to Jaina as he closed the last book he had read.

Jaina nodded and walked towards the desk where he was sitting.

“I expected you wouldn’t find it. Up until now, the saints have only received their power from one royal family member.”
