Chapter 37. The Northern Grand Duke has become strange

While they were drinking tea and chatting about this and that, Lilian winked at Leo.

Jaina’s face hardened slightly when she happened to see the wink, but she didn’t show it because she thought she might have seen it wrong.

But a little while later, Leo got up, saying he was going to the bathroom for a moment.

Of course, there was no problem until then.

The problem was that Lilian, who got up less than a minute after Leo left, said she was going to go for a moment too.

‘What is this….’

The situation was too weird to say no.

‘Leo clearly went after Lilian’s wink, and she followed him.’

Jaina began to feel uneasy.

She thought that maybe she had let her guard down too much because Lilian seemed kinder than she thought. 

“What’s your name?”

Adel asked Jaina, who was lost in such anxious thoughts.

Jaina looked at Adel and said.

“It’s Jaina.”

Jaina. Adel muttered her name, rolling it around in his mouth.

“Why did you go to the North? I wonder why you went there instead of the palace after hearing Leo’s rumors.”

Just as she was about to answer her questions, Leo appeared again. He didn’t waste much time, as if he had really only gone to the bathroom. He raised his eyebrows when he saw the two of them alone, as if he hadn’t met Lilian.

“Why is your expression like that after going to the bathroom?”

Adel asked Leo with a voice mixed with laughter, but Leo sat down next to Jaina and asked her instead of answering.

“Aren’t you bored?”

Jaina, who immediately realized that he meant to get up, opened her mouth to answer, and Lilian returned.

She also asked Jaina as soon as she arrived, as if she was not interested in Leo at all.

“Have you seen the inside of the Crown Prince’s Palace?”

“Why did you go north, Jaina?”

Before she could answer, Adel asked.

Leo’s brow furrowed even more at that.

“Did you tell him your name?”

“Oh, since he asked.”

Jaina nodded once at Leo’s question, but was embarrassed when he immediately glared at him. As if saying why he was asking for the name of another saint.

She wondered why he didn’t want to tell him her name, what was such a big secret.

“Saint, would you like to tour the Crown Princess’ Palace together?”

At that moment, Lilian asked Jaina.

Lilian said that she would guide her since she probably hadn’t seen the palace yet. When Jaina hesitated, she told her that she should see everything since she was already at the palace.

Jaina turned her head and looked at Leo.

She thought it would be better to go sightseeing with Leo, so she hoped for his refusal. But Leo casually told her to go.

Jaina felt a little sad about that, so her face hardened slightly. She quickly fixed her expression and nodded.

Following Lilian, Jaina was slightly embarrassed again because she causally linked arms with her.

“This is the space where His Highness Adel’s office is. Since His Highness spends the most time here, I also spend most of my time here.”

Lilian mainly talked about Adel’s playfulness and possessiveness, which made Jaina laugh.

“Do you want to go to the Prince’s Palace?”

After seeing the Crown Prince’s Palace, Lilian asked, saying it was a shame to end the walk like this.

When she went to see Hakunde, she ran away after meeting Eddie by chance. She hesitated to meet him again.

Adel was not like that, but Eddie had a strangely uncomfortable aura. She didn’t want to meet him unless it was absolutely necessary.

That was also because he was portrayed as a possessive man in the original work. He was the one who kidnapped, imprisoned, and harassed Lilian for the reason that he loved her, and made her miserable.

“Let’s go. The Prince’s Palace is different from the Crown Princess’ Palace, and there are more things to see. That’s why I really want to show you.”

However, Jaina eventually pretended to give in to Lilian’s continued persuasion and followed her.

She worried for a moment that she might meet Eddie again. But fortunately, this time, she didn’t meet Eddie or the youngest prince until she finished looking around the Prince’s Palace.

“The Emperor’s and the Empress’ Palace are much wider and more beautiful than this. But I’ve only been there once, so let’s go together next time if we get a chance.”

“Oh, yes.”

“But the Crown Princess Palace and the Prince’s Palace are really pretty, aren’t they?”

“Yes.”

“It’s a really nice place to live. There’s nothing lacking. The North is the same, but it’s a bit cold there.”
