Chapter 36. The Northern Grand Duke has become strange

“Huh? No way. I don’t need the power at all……”

“Since we’ve met like this, I’ll give you my power.”

Eddie cut Jaina off again and took a step closer.

‘What are you talking about, you crazy bastard.’

Jaina also quickly backed away and became serious.

    “I don’t need it?”

It was shocking that he said he would give her the power when he had killed all the saints of Elim by not giving them the power.

“All the saints of the forest of Elim died? Except for you and Lilian.”

Eddie asked her. Jaina glared at him, and he shrugged his shoulders and continued.

“I was quite sad to hear the news. If I had known in advance, I would have gone to give you the power.”

Jaina knew well that he had been bewitched by Lilian and would not have given them the power. She frowned at Eddie’s shameless words that he didn’t know.

    “Ha.”

At the same time, Eddie’s eyes strangely changed at the sneer that escaped her lips without him knowing. Jaina asked Eddie, who was staring at her, with a face that had lost all smiles.

“You didn’t know? Didn’t you know but didn’t give it to us?”

At her question, Eddie suddenly raised the corners of his mouth and smiled. She thought he would get angry or make excuses, but Jaina’s expression hardened slightly at his mean smile.

    “What’s your name?”

     Eddie suddenly asked.

When he raised his eyebrows and asked why she was asking his name, Eddie approached her with a laugh.

Jaina instinctively took a step back.

    He smiled slyly at her.

Because of that smile, Jaina realized once again how crazy this man was in the original.

A man who did everything he could just to have Lilian. A man who was so crazy in love with Lilian that he would devote his life to her.

Jaina, who was looking at Eddie with a sullen look while thinking such thoughts, flinched at him who kept closing his eyes and smiling.

He was a strangely unpleasant man. His smile, his eyes.

    At that moment.

    Lilian was with Leo.

“The saint liked Hakunde too much.”

She said that Jaina liked Hakunde too much. She asked if it would be a good idea to bring a Hakunte to the North.

    “Hakunde?”

“Yes. The famous winged animal from Kadaram.”

    “Ah.”

    Leo nodded once.

Eddie had once said that thanks to Lilian, they had brought in a strange animal from a neighboring country.

“If you want, I can get it for you.”

Leo fell into a deep thought at Lilian’s words.

“Honestly, I don’t really like it because I have to please the King of Kadaram, but the saint of the North is so cute.”

When Leo made a happy expression at those words, Lilian, who thought it was the right time, said to him.

“I also want the saint to be happy in the North. So I’ll help you.”

Then she started talking about what they needed to bring in Hakunde from Kadaram.

But that didn’t last long, as Lilian continued the conversation, cleverly changing the subject.

“So Your Highness, you don’t originally like the saint?”

    “As for my taste, well….”

“Do you have a particular taste for women?”

“Well…. But what does this question have to do with importing Hakunte?”

Leo’s brow furrowed at the extremely personal question.

Instead of answering, Lilian simply smiled. Just when Leo was starting to get annoyed with her, Jaina came to visit. She stiffened her face when she saw Leo alone with Lilian.

    “Leo?”

Leo’s face brightened as he turned his head toward Jaina’s call.

Lilian quickly got up and said, seeing Leo’s expression.

    “Then think about it.”

She spoke as quietly as possible, but it was loud enough for Jaina to hear.

    “Have you seen the Hakunde?”

    Lilian smiled at Jaina.

Jaina had a puzzled expression on her face, not knowing what she was telling Leo to think about. She quickly let down her guard at Lilian’s kind smile.

    “Yes.”

“Let’s have fun together. Then I’ll go to His Highness Adel. I’ll see you later.”

As Lilian went out to greet Jaina, Leo reached out to her.

Jaina naturally took his hand and sat down next to him.

“But, what did she want you to think about?”

Although her guard was slightly lowered, Jaina asked Leo about Lilian’s words which seemed strangely off-putting.

    “Hmm? Ah…….”

Leo seemed to be naturally going to answer Jaina’s question, but soon shook his head and said.

    “No, nothing.”

It was because Lilian had said that if he were going to bring Hakunde from a foreign country, it would be touching to give Jaina a surprise gift. But Jaina became suspicious of Leo’s actions.

‘What the heck, why are you hiding it……?’

She was so anxious that her heart was pounding, but she didn’t show it because she still trusted him.

Lilian didn’t seem to be trying to seduce Leo, and Leo didn’t seem to be very interested in Lilian either.

Of course, the feeling of subtle anxiety didn’t go away at all.

Anyway, Lilian was really caring about her, and she acted like she wasn’t particularly interested in Leo. Jaina’s guard gradually let down. She thought she could rest easy about Lilian.

And around the time she thought that, a series of events that made Jaina anxious happened.

The first was when Jaina went out to the garden to drink tea after eating with Leo, and Adel and Lilian came into Jaina’s sight.

“Are you here to drink tea?”

Lilian approached Jaina first and asked with a smile.

    “Yes, you?”

Jaina asked with a smile, and Lilian nodded and linked arms with Jaina.

    “Yup. Let’s drink together.”

There was no particular reason to refuse, so Jaina headed to the tea table with Adel and Lilian.
