Chapter 14. I Need the Power of the Northern Duke

The monster trapped in the barrier made a strange noise and scratched Jaina’s back with its claws.

    “Uheuk!”

    “Jaina!”

A surprised Leo hugged Jaina, whose back was injured by the monster’s claws. He raised his long sword and threw it at the monster.

The monster, whose body was bound by the sacred barrier, was unable to dodge the sword Leo threw and was hit in one eye. It made the monster scream and twist its entire body.

Countless guards shot arrows and stabbed the monster with their swords. The monster trapped in the barrier, hit by arrows and swords all over its body, eventually fell and died.

    “Doctor! Call the doctor!!”

Jaina lost consciousness as she heard Leo’s voice urgently looking for a doctor while holding her.

When Jaina opened her eyes, she realized that she was lying face down.

And that her back felt like it was burning hotly in a diagonal line. While blinking her eyes and trying to come to her senses, she recalled the giant monster invading the castle.

‘Wow, I guess it’s because I’m in a saint’s body, but my body moves on its own.

It was amazing that her body was doing things that she hadn’t even thought of in her head. And she let out a deep sigh at the power that she couldn’t feel at all.

‘Where did this brat go? My power is at its lowest right now, so shouldn’t I at least kiss him?’

Her power was at its lowest, but she could fill it up a little with a kiss when he came, so her life wasn’t in danger. Jaina lay face down, groaning, wondering how much her back was torn. Then suddenly she seemed to have fallen asleep. Her eyes flashed at the sight of someone carefully touching her back. It was Leo.

He stared at her back, completely unaware that Jaina had opened her eyes. He carefully stroked the uninjured parts and let out short sighs every now and then.

Jaina thought that he felt sorry for her wounds, so she tried to trick him into asking if she could leave the northern barrier until her body was completely healed.

    “Are you in pain?”

Leo asked, perhaps seeing Jaina open her eyes only then. Jaina rolled her eyes while lying face down, looking at Leo and nodded faintly.

“How’s your back? Does it hurt?”

    “It’s just a little, hot.”

     “……”

“How much did I get hurt?”

“…quite a bit. Maybe the scars won’t go away.”

    “Ah…….”

“But don’t worry. I’ll heal your wounds cleanly no matter what.”

Leo said, brushing back Jaina’s disheveled hair. Jaina felt his gaze was unusually affectionate and slowly blinked.

Jaina, who had recovered somewhat, sat at Leo’s desk, fiddling with the handle of the seal she had used as a masturbation tool. She was lost in thought.

His condition had definitely become strange since the day she got hurt.

The way he applied medicine to her injured back and kept kissing her to keep her power was because he was grateful for her.

However, the Northern Grand Duke, who had a very busy schedule, tried to stick to her like a piece of gum not only at night but also during the day. He even tried to feed her food even though her hands were fine. So it felt like an exaggeration to say that he was being grateful.

‘Why on earth did his attitude change so much?’

Just now, she had to go out in a hurry because a monster attacked a village in the north. But Leo had told her to stay in the room and not move while he was leaving.

Even though the only place she could go inside the Grand Duchy was the artificial garden, he told her not to go out of the bedroom. He had a look on his face that said it was dangerous outside.

‘Surely this guy doesn’t think I saved his life or something because I got hurt instead of him, right?’

Then, thinking that it couldn’t be true, she shook her head.

‘All I did was hurt my back while covering him up, so that can’t be true.’

In fact, even if she hadn’t covered him, the chances of him being attacked by the monster were slim.

In a rush, her body moved first to hug him, but he was clearly in a situation and position where he could dodge the monster’s front legs and fight back. From the start, even though he couldn’t use his power, he was stronger than anyone else. He was the best swordsman in the empire.

‘He must know that too. Yet I got involved and got hurt.’

Even so, if he considered her his savior, then that might be a good opportunity for her.

If he really thought that way, then she could use that feeling to continue her life.

The power flowing in through saliva alone wouldn’t be enough to create a barrier in the north. A saint who couldn’t create a barrier wouldn’t necessarily be qualified to be in the castle.

However, even without that qualification now, she could live comfortably in the castle just because she was the savior of the duke. That was a good opportunity in its own right.  It was certain.

Jaina nodded and put the seal she had been fiddling with on the desk.

She had come to the desk because she wanted to relieve her lack of desire through masturbation when Leo was away. Yet her mind was complicated so she got up.

Since she was a homebody by nature, she had no intention of going against Leo’s order to stay in the bedroom. She jumped up onto the bed and lay down with her arms stretched out.
