    Chapter Index

Especially when it’s a loud smack in the lower extremities.

    “Ahhh…! Argh!”

A sweet gasp escaped Shia’s mouth as he grabbed Hanaella’s waist and held her down.

The pace of the flicks increased, and Hanaella’s moans sharpened.

    “Aaah, ahh! Hmm, ugh, agh!”

That’s the sound. Shia’s dark gray eyes glowed. The moan that had come from her act with Lloyd.

Shia cried out inwardly with pleasure at the realization that he was capable of eliciting such moans from Hanaella’s lips.

The pleasure was so overwhelming that he lost control of his climax and spurted his load, causing him to wince for a moment, but fortunately, Hanaella was also shuddering and moaning sharply as if she had climaxed as well.

Shia then buried his face in Hanaella’s shoulder, spewing his seed in a wild orgasm of pleasure.

    💫

Edward’s visit to Hanaella came the morning before the day of the tea party that Brandz was hosting.

He knew it was impolite to visit so early in the morning, but he was a busy man.

Taking the time to brief her on her request was enough of a gesture to make up for the lack of courtesy.

Not that Hanaella, who entered the reception room looking a little grumpy, seemed to think otherwise.

Looking as if she’d just woken up, her face was bare, without makeup, and she wore a guest dress that looked like it had been forced on her by maids.

Edward couldn’t take his eyes off her, so plain and natural, so unlike any other noblewoman, and he didn’t even realize it.

Nor did she smell of perfume that made his head hurt, nor did she look uncomfortable in her overly tightened clothes.

In the same way that being among free-spirited, cheerful commoner women made him feel relaxed and at ease, Hanaella seemed to feel at ease in his presence.

Despite her annoyance at Edward’s interruption of her short sleep, Hanaella gave him a forced smile and a stiff greeting.

The corners of his mouth twitched upward as Edward found himself quite fond of her ability to hide her mood.

“What brings you here so early?”

“I apologize for coming so early in the morning. I don’t have much time.”

“Duke Edward is busy, the whole empire knows that.”

“I’ll just give you a brief message and be on my way.”

Just then, a maid arrived with tea, and the conversation was interrupted.

As Edward stared at Hanaella, who was pouring herself a cup of tea, he noticed a strange change in her demeanor.

When he first saw her, she looked like a young woman just out of her teens, but in the time he hadn’t seen her, she had grown quite mature.

Her languid, downcast eyes and plunging neckline made her look strangely sexy.

I thought to myself, ‘What am I thinking, playing with a young lady.’

I’ve been busy lately, so I haven’t had much luck with women.

To think that a young noblewoman who had no interest in him at all, especially one who had just come of age, looked so sexy, made him want more, and he hurriedly put his teacup down.

“I understand you’ve received an invitation to the tea party from Lady Andredel.”

    “Yes, I did.”

“Actually, the party was organized by Lady Thearine.”

    “…I’ve noticed.”

‘Because I already knew she was up to no good.’

“On the day of the party, the venue will be Count Thearine’s, not Count Andredel’s.”

    “…!”

“Perhaps Count Thearine’s purchase of Delphiter has something to do with why he wants to move the location of the tea party to House Thearine on the day of the party.”

    “And what is Delphiter…?”

“It’s a type of sleeping pill. It’s an illegal drug, unobtainable in the Empire.”

‘A sleeping pill…! How could they possibly think to use that on me, those bloody bastards…!’

    “I see.”

Hanaella’s face hardened grimly. Edward tried to reassure her.

“You have nothing to worry about, we’ve already taken care of that. The tea party will be held at Count Andredel’s residence as scheduled, and Lady Hanaella will not be traveling to House Thearine.”

    “…How…?”

“I found out by accident why the tea party will be held in Thearine on that day, when a staff member met with Lady Andredel and told her that Norwen’s office would fully support the arrangements for the tea party.”

    “…Did she accept it?”

“All five of the ladies invited to the tea party are from prominent families in social circles, and with such a gathering, it’s hard for her not to realize that it’s in her best interest to host it at her house rather than House Thearine. And though she dealt with House Thearine for money, she understands how much more beneficial it would be for her to make friends with Lady Hanaella and the others right now.”

“…Ah… I only asked you to follow up, but I didn’t expect you to go that far… Did Lord Ron instruct you to do so?”

    “…Yes, that’s right.”

“Tell him I appreciate it… Oh, and you can bill me for the cost of setting up the tea

    party…”

“I paid for that, so that’s fine.”

The words slipped out of his mouth as he took the credit, albeit his own, from Ron.

    “Duke Edward, why?”

“…I don’t know, is it weird to just say it?”

“Yes, it is strange. Please charge me, I can’t be indebted to Duke Edward.”

“If you must, I’ll accept it in exchange for your appreciation of your lordship’s black magic.”

    “Black magic?”

‘Ah— this man was interested in black magic. Like the Princess Leige.’

That’s right, he hates women, so he’s not going to show me a favor for no reason.

“When I was younger, I once pestered my father to join the Knights’ annual raid on the North.”

    “…”

“I wanted to see the Knights and Duke Ethan’s black magic, but my father wouldn’t let me go for a number of reasons, first, it was politically incorrect for the imperial family to participate in the Northern Crusade, and second, it was unthinkable that the next head of House Delioffe should be on a battlefield that could endanger him. So…”

Edward stopped abruptly. He didn’t know what he was talking about.

Having taken time out of his busy schedule to briefly explain the request, he hadn’t meant to say this.

“Well, if you’re going to pay for it anyway, I’d like to pay for it.”

    “…Okay, well, can I pay you now…”

    “No.”

    “…?”

“I’d like to take my time with it, so I’ll be in touch.”

‘Well… I don’t know how many skills I could use, and it wouldn’t take more than a few minutes.’

But judging by the way Edward scrambled to his feet, he was really busy right now.

    “Well, maybe another time.”

After he left, a dazed Hanaella sat back down on the couch and took a sip of her tea, which had cooled slightly.

A golden bird flew by the window, catching the sunlight and reminding her of Lloyd’s platinum hair.

Hanaella took another sip of tea as she watched the golden bird.

Somehow, she remembered Lloyd smiling at her like a child.

Not that she particularly missed him, but she wondered a little what he was doing at this hour.

    💫

As scheduled, Lloyd declared his official courtship with Hanaella before a gathering of the Emperor and nobles.

The Emperor and the nobles of the Emperor’s faction rejoiced, and the faces of the Empress’s entourage, including the High Priests of the Cathedral, grimaced.

When a delegate rose to his feet and said that he could never approve of the marriage as Crown Princess, many nobles predictably sided with the delegate.

The room grew noisy with shouting, and Ethan’s face contorted as Hanaella’s name was thrown back and forth between the two factions of nobles.

‘This is why I tried so hard never to have anything to do with that raccoon!’

Hanaella had met Lloyd when she was four years old, when she first came to the palace with Ethan.

Finding a raccoon that Lloyd was raising, she had followed him to the palace to catch it while her father was distracted talking to someone else.

Having lost her father, Hanaella clung to Lloyd as if he were her protector, and after initially being bothered by her, Lloyd eventually took care of her the way he treated his sister Leige.
