Chapter 34. Trap

From that day on, it was a routine for Lian to sleep with Lepierre every day, without fail. She was found guilty of something and was being ‘punished’ every day.

Not long ago, she had bead inside her vagina and when she couldn’t stand the stimulation, he always inflicts ‘punishment’.

The punishment was truly diverse. He said that he usually ate in his room, but one day he felt the urge and went to the dining table in the hall to eat. She should have recognized the large space when there was no one there…

Lian tried to hide her emotions and wished him well, and Lepierre nodded his head slightly as if to reassure her and left.

She watched his back until it turned into a dot and disappeared, and then went in. Today, as Lepierre was away for the first time in a while, Lian was planning to go to the library to read books. After having a quick breakfast, she headed to the library.

On the way, she ran into someone. It was Sophia.

“Hello, Sophia.”

“Yes, Lian. Where are you going?”

“I have some business to do in the library. You look very happy today.”

She was humming to herself, so she asked if something good was going to happen today.

“Nothing. I feel like my concerns will be resolved soon. Today is a good day.”

“Yes, I’m glad. Have a nice day, Sophia.”

She said hello as usual and she passed by. The only thing that was different from usual was that Sophia’s expression was strangely flushed.

Every time she came to the huge library, she was amazed. It was so massive that she could never see it in her lifetime.

She usually came by from time to time to pick up books, but every time she came, she was always overwhelmed by the atmosphere. She would spend 30 minutes just looking around blankly before choosing a book. Oh, it was the first time in a while that she had some free time, so she was going to choose a book to read leisurely.

The books were piling up in Lian’s arms, and she planned to lock herself in her room and read them until Lepierre returned.

So she carefully selected a few books and returned to her room. Placing the books she had brought on the desk, she was about to look at her first book, but there was a note on the desk that she had never seen before.

‘It wasn’t there before…’ 

She was puzzled for a moment, and then she unconsciously opened the note. 

[Lian, please come to the garden behind. I’ll wait there. -Belisha]

It was a note from Belisha.

After changing roles with Lian, Belisha was newly assigned to be in charge of the large vegetable garden behind the Duke’s residence.

Although the work was arduous in the area where vegetables, fruits, and other crops for the duke’s residence were grown, she seemed to be internally satisfied. She was guaranteed solid wages and the produce they had grown was sometimes distributed.

Still, she remembered her whining a few days ago about her arm hurting from pulling weeds all day. She said she had been busy lately and she was willing to help out when she had time. Lian started heading there without any doubt.

The place was in a corner. The area nearby was strangely quiet and it was so sparsely populated.

She looked around to see if Belisha was still working in the fields, but she didn’t see a single ant, let alone a person.

“Belisha~” 

No matter how many times she called, there was no answer. It was a natural, since she wasn’t called by Belisha to begin with.

Lian sat down on a bench near her and waited for her to come. No matter how long she waited, Belisha didn’t come, and she, who was tired of waiting, got up to leave. A strange sound was coming from somewhere.

Rough breathing, sounds like the grunting of animals, sounds of metal being dragged, and even rough footsteps that don’t seem to belong to humans… Perhaps it was an instinctive feeling, but for an instant, her entire body shrank and she got goosebumps.

As she hurried towards the door of the building, her shadow was slowly being eaten by another huge shadow. After seeing this scene, Lian swallowed her breath and slowly turned around.

A huge werewolf that appeared to be at least 9 ships tall was standing there, breathing heavily and looking menacing. It was a big wolf and it was walking on two feet. It had human-like hands, but the fingertips had incredibly thick nails that were sharp and menacing.

In his hand was an ax of unknown origin, and just looking at it made her spine tingle. It was bigger than an ordinary werewolf. With sharp fangs and crowded teeth in his mouth, green saliva was dripping from between them. The eyes that were looking at Lian were terrifying.

Lian’s thoughts stopped for a moment. There was no time to think rationally about things like why something like this came out in this supposedly safe place.

If she has any thoughts, there is only one: she had to live.

The werewolf that was slowly approaching suddenly screamed and swung the ax at Lian.

“Kyak!!”

Lian instinctively screamed and quickly bent her back to avoid it.

Bang.

The ax blade hit the tree next to it, splitting it in two at once. It swung so hard that the fallen tree erupted dust everywhere and kept her coughing.

A drop of sweat poured down Lian’s spine when she saw that scene. If she couldn’t avoid it and got hit straight away…

She screamed and escaped, and people were coming in one by one due to the loud noise she made just now.

“Oh… no, what is that?”

“Isn’t it a werewolf?!”

“Quickly call the knights!”

The only people gathered were servants or employees of the duke’s residence, so no one could help with the situation. The only way to pass the time is until the knights arrive.

And unfortunately, it seemed like Lian had dodged the previous blow, which only made the monster even more angry. It was approaching her menacingly, its eyes shining brightly. Then, it swung the huge ax again vigorously.

Using all her strength, she dodged once again. However, she fell and rolled so hard that her knees and palms were bleeding on the floor.

People around her closed their eyes or screamed. But strangely enough, the monster was only attacking Lian.
