    Prologue

    “…My young groom.”

A deity (神) that has lived and breathed since ancient times.

Beautifully wretched and aesthetically bizarre (怪異).

“If you wish for no one to die, tell me why I should grant that.”

The god of disaster, worshipped and bowed to by all beings—spirits, monsters, deities alike—spoke thus,

“Did you have a good dream?”

It’s time to wake up now.

“What a shame. I’m going to keep dreaming of you, even if I die.”
