Chapter 39. Leo and Jaina, Adel and Lilian 

Leo’s eyes widened slightly at Jaina’s question.

It wasn’t absurdity, but a look of bewilderment.

Jaina frowned and asked.

“What on earth are you whispering to the Imperial Saint? Did you like the Imperial Saint?”

“…What?”

“If that’s the case, please tell me right now. I need to know in advance if I should make other preparations…….”

“What kind of nonsense are you talking about?!”

Leo cut Jaina off and became serious.

“What kind of preparation are you talking about?”

“What kind of preparation would that be? If you like the Imperial Saint, then of course I should find another way to live.”

“Are you saying you’re going to another royal family right now in front of me?!”

“You’re the one whispering to the Imperial Saint in front of me?!”

Jaina was just as angry as Leo, so her voice naturally got louder.

Leo, who was dumbfounded by Jaina, let out a long sigh. He rubbed his face with one hand as if trying to calm down.

“You must have misunderstood.”

“I misunderstood. You two were talking about something without me knowing. Just a moment ago…….”

Jaina, who ended up revealing her jealousy, bit her lower lip and paused for a moment.but she thought it would be better to hear the truth about what happened, so she continued to speak.

“You say it’s a misunderstanding, but you keep acting in a suspicious way.”

At that moment, Leo said to Jaina as if he was being unfair.

“It’s because of the Hakunde.”

Jaina’s eyes widened slightly at the unexpected name.

“The Hakunde?”

Leo nodded at Jaina’s question and said.

“Because you want to raise it.”

“Me?”

Jaina asked with a look of what he meant, and Leo asked her back.

“You said you wanted to raise it?”

“Me?”

Jaina repeated the same question.

“No? You told the Imperial Saint that you wanted to raise the Hakunde.”

“No, I just said it was cute, not that I wanted to raise it…….”

Leo’s brow furrowed slightly as Jaina trailed off.

“What, I tried to give you a surprise gift because you wanted to raise it.”

“Is that why you two were so close?”

“We weren’t close. Anyway, it’s true that we discussed it because the Saint said she could bring it.”

Jaina nodded with a short sigh at Leo’s words.

“I don’t want to raise it. That’s why you two shouldn’t be together anymore.”

A smile spread across Leo’s lips at Jaina’s cute, jealous complaint.

“Okay. If you don’t want to raise the Hakunde, then I have nothing to do with her.”

Leo, who spoke in an affectionate voice, kissed Jaina and smiled. A smile spread across Jaina’s lips when he said that.

However, the part where Lilian was kind to her but lied behind her back left a strange feeling of discomfort.

After hearing Jaina’s words, Leo stopped talking to Lilian.

Lilian, who was surprised by the sudden break in conversation, came to see Leo herself.

“Why are you suddenly like that? If we’re going to bring the Hakunde, we still have to talk…….”

“No need.”

Leo cut Lilian off and continued firmly.

“Jaina said she didn’t want to raise it.”

“…Huh?”

“That’s exactly right. Since Jaina said she had no intention of raising it, let’s pretend this never happened.”

“Did you say that? No, of course she would say she had no intention of raising it. It’s expensive, and it’s a rare animal from another country. Of course she would think it would be a nuisance to His Highness the Grand Duke, so she refused….”

“Since she’s not that kind of person, you don’t have to worry about that. Anyway, let’s pretend this never happened. Don’t talk to me about it anymore.”

At Leo’s words to stop talking, Lilian’s expression instantly hardened.

Lilian quickly turned around and headed towards Jaina.

“Did you say you weren’t going to raise the Hakunde?”

Jaina was taken aback by Lilian’s sudden question, but she also wanted to hear the reason for her lie. 

“Yes, I didn’t want to raise it.”

“But you wanted to raise it, right?”

“Me?”

“You said it was cute.”

“That doesn’t mean I want to raise it.”

“If you like it, you want to have it, right? That’s why I thought you wanted to raise it.”

‘What kind of simple logic is this…’

Jaina’s eyes blinked in bewilderment at Lilian’s words.

However, when she made a face like ‘what’s the problem?’, she let out a hollow laugh without realizing it.

Lilian’s eyebrows furrowed slightly at this, but Jaina didn’t pay much attention.

“I don’t need to have everything I like.”

Jaina snorted at this.

She didn’t know until then.

That Lilian, who had her feelings hurt, would change from that day on.

Lilian walked back and forth in the room, chewing her nails with her teeth.

She tried to get close to Leo using the Hakunde, but she lost because of that thorn, the Northern Saint.

‘I’m annoyed.’

She was obsessed with Leo, who treated her like a rock rolling on the floor. Especially when all the men in the empire couldn’t take their eyes off her.

Her bad habit of having to have what she wants always reared its head.

That’s why she tried to approach Leo, who treated her coldly, as slowly as possible.

If only they had time alone, she was confident that she could seduce him.

She had never failed in seduction of anyone, so her confidence was already sky-high.

On top of that, Leo was her style from head to toe.
