by misacchi“Well… since I became S-class, I thought I’d celebrate by running around a bit. On top of buildings. I’m really fast.”
“In the dungeon, right?”
“There aren’t any buildings in the dungeon.”
Minjun, hastily explaining, averted his eyes and spoke with a hint of embarrassment. Soohyuk couldn’t help but laugh at his honest reaction.
He understood the urge to try everything once you became S-class. He himself had once run all the way to Gangneung to watch the sunrise after becoming an S-class hunter. Looking back, it was a foolish thing to do, but at the time, it seemed somehow cool.
Soohyuk didn’t feel like scolding Minjun. He often found himself jumping out of windows too.
So he spoke gently.
“How far did you go?”
“Uh… Mount Gwanak.”
Minjun answered honestly. His heart was pounding, but it wasn’t the worst. If Soohyuk had been following him, he would have shown up at Gwanak Mountain.
“That’s quite far.”
“I’m sorry. I won’t do it again.”
“Well, it’s not uncommon for hunters to jump out of windows. But if it’s not urgent, use the front door.”
“Yes.”
Fortunately, his excuse of being excited seemed to work. Soohyuk’s kind advice didn’t seem angry or suspicious, which was a relief.
“Did you get a stealth skill?”
“I’ve had it for a while, but I didn’t use it. But guild leader, how did you know?”
“Stealth?”
“Yes.”
Sensing Soohyuk’s reaction had softened, Minjun bravely asked. The stealth skill ‘Complete Darkness’ didn’t just make one invisible. It allowed one to hide in a space of darkness, even blocking out breathing sounds. Especially at night, with little light, it was almost invincible, yet Soohyuk had noticed it.
“I just knew.”
“Really?”
“There was something flickering. It seemed like an intentional movement, so I followed it. You could say I had a hunch.”
Minjun recalled that Soohyuk was known as Korea’s top S-class hunter. His intuition was sharp, and his ability to act as soon as he felt suspicious was impressive.
“I lost track at the end. If the living room window hadn’t opened, I wouldn’t have known. No matter how much you use a stealth skill, you shouldn’t let your guard down.”
Minjun wanted to crawl into a hole at Soohyuk’s kind advice. The key to the stealth skill was not revealing oneself until the very last moment. He had been so excited about the curse being lifted that he hadn’t watched his back.
It was a mistake. He knew Soohyuk was sharing his know-how with an inexperienced hunter. That made Minjun even more embarrassed. Though he didn’t have a proper divine status yet, as a god, he should show a perfect image to his followers.
Minjun steeled his face, overcoming the shock. He vowed never to let this happen again.
“Yes, I understand.”
“You’re really fired up now.”
Soohyuk smiled broadly and reached out to ruffle Minjun’s hair lightly. Embarrassed by the gesture, as if comforting a child, Minjun turned his head slightly to avoid Soohyuk’s hand.
“Why are you avoiding it?”
“It’s just, a bit embarrassing.”
“It’s okay. Everyone makes mistakes.”
“I know that.”
“Hahaha. Why are you so cute?”
Minjun couldn’t understand why Soohyuk found him cute. Still, he didn’t avoid Soohyuk’s hand when he ruffled his hair again with a smile.
He felt relieved that Soohyuk hadn’t caught on to his escapade at Gwanak Mountain. As Soohyuk withdrew his hand, he leaned in slightly, bringing his face close to Minjun’s, almost cheek to cheek.
“How about tonight?”
“…What?”
“Now that you’re S-class, instead of running on rooftops, you should try breaking a bed.”
“Why would I break a bed?”
Minjun was utterly confused by Soohyuk’s words. Why would anyone break a perfectly good bed?
Seeing Soohyuk’s meaningful smile, Minjun recalled something he had seen on HunterNet. There was a well-known joke about hunters of the same rank breaking beds during sex.
So, Soohyuk was subtly suggesting they have sex. Realizing this belatedly, Minjun widened his eyes in surprise.
“What do you think?”
“We still have time, don’t we?”
“We can do it regardless of that… can’t we?”
Soohyuk’s low whisper was so enticing that Minjun almost nodded. He had recovered his rank and lifted the curse. Although his curse resistance had weakened, it wasn’t a significant issue.
He had been so thrilled that he ran from Mount Gwanak to the dormitory without feeling tired. He was in such a good mood that he was almost giddy. If they had sex now, they might actually break the bed.
“I think it’s better not to.”
After a moment of internal conflict, Minjun swallowed his regret and declined.
“Why?”
“Well, I think it’s better to do things by the book.”
Minjun’s legal age was twenty, but his actual age was thirty-four. He had extensive social and hunter experience. When contracts or principles changed midway, problems often arose.
For example, nobles in the other world who hired demon hunters would often make demands not specified in the contract. Even if it was a simple task that didn’t require much effort, complying thoughtlessly could lead to trouble.
The mutual physical union required by the bound item was once every nine days. Doing it more frequently could lead to complications. Although they could do it multiple times at once, doing more than necessary was unnecessary and risky.
“After all that effort to tempt you, and you still won’t budge.”
Soohyuk lamented as he straightened up. Despite being rejected, he smiled brightly, not looking the least bit serious. Minjun was flustered by Soohyuk’s words. So this was a seduction attempt.
“Was that a seduction?”
“I did suggest breaking the bed together. But you don’t completely dislike the idea, right?”
“Ah, yes.”
“Then that’s fine. We’ll try again later.”
Soohyuk leaned in again, this time bringing his lips close. As expected, he lightly brushed his lips against Minjun’s, surprising him greatly.
“Guild leader?”
“Even if we don’t have sex, we can still kiss, right?”
Minjun hesitated. Soohyuk wasn’t wrong, but he wasn’t sure if it was okay.
“Um…”
“Is that not okay either?”
“It’s not that…”
“You might want to part your lips.”
Soohyuk acted quickly. As his lower lip was sucked, Minjun snapped back to reality. Remembering Soohyuk’s words about being able to kiss even if they didn’t have sex, he parted his lips.
In an instant, a hot tongue slipped in, exploring deep within. They had kissed countless times during sex. Initially inexperienced and clumsy, Minjun had become quite adept at kissing.
Grabbing Soohyuk’s head, he entwined their tongues, savoring the kiss. Before he knew it, their bodies were pressed tightly together.
Sensing that things might escalate in the living room, Minjun pushed against Soohyuk’s shoulders with force. Normally, Soohyuk was as unyielding as steel, but he released Minjun’s lips. Realizing he had become S-class, Minjun remarked, “You said it would just be a kiss.”
“You really won’t give in.”
Soohyuk frowned slightly and sighed, stepping back two paces. Minjun, also exhaling deeply, noticed Soohyuk’s cheeks flushed under the living room lights. He was sure he looked the same.
“Just wait until next time.”
“I’m S-class now too, you know.”
“Exactly.”
“Well, as the guild leader wishes, the bed might just break.”
“Haha. Don’t forget that resolve.”
“Sure.”
Minjun confidently faced Soohyuk’s warning. Having regained his S-class status and lifted the curse, he feared nothing now. Though there was a size difference, he was confident in his strength.
“I’m heading out now.”
“Take care.”
With a light wave, Soohyuk stepped onto the balcony railing and leaped off. Watching him disappear beyond the guild building, Minjun clicked his tongue inwardly. The man’s flying skill was as swift as a bird.
“Such a cheat.”
Minjun muttered softly, biting his lips that still tingled from the kiss. It was the first time they had kissed without having sex.
“Well, it can happen.”
Taking a deep breath, Minjun rubbed his lips once. The sensation of the tongue exploring inside lingered, leaving him feeling strange. He quickly took off his shoes, crossed the living room, and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge.

At the same time, back in his office, Soohyuk ran a hand through his hair. Though his excitement had subsided, the lingering sense of regret made him exhale deeply.
“He’s a fortress.”
Soohyuk swallowed a bitter smile. He had been trying to create exceptions with Minjun, who didn’t think about romance at all. Once an exception was made, a second or third would follow quickly. But Minjun remained immovable.
To avoid the side effects of the ‘fated bond,’ it was best to follow Minjun’s advice and stick to the basics. This meant no confessions, no romance, and no dreams until the nine required sexual encounters were completed.
He knew he should enjoy the process. Yet, he was impatient and wanted to show how much he liked Minjun.
This was truly a first for him.
He realized that when you like someone, emotions become uncontrollable. It felt like his feet were lifted by a gentle breeze. The excitement hadn’t faded.
“He did say he didn’t dislike it.”
Soohyuk remembered that Minjun hadn’t said he disliked it, and he smiled. He was certain that even after the contract ended, Minjun would give in to his temptations.
Confident in his one-sided love, he imagined only a happy future.
