IZSTASL Chapter 16
by Bree“Yeah, let’s do that. If we try to split it, the filling’s just gonna spill everywhere.”
Kim Woo-hyung agreed, and Yoon Si-chan had already unwrapped the sandwich.
If we were eating bite by bite, the first person to take a bite had the biggest advantage.
Just shove as much as possible into your mouth and take the biggest bite you can.
“Shouldn’t the hungriest person go first?”
I said it casually, but the moment I did, Kim Woo-hyung turned around and looked at me like I was some kind of rotting insect.
Even Lee Seon-kang only gave a strained smile, not responding.
“…The fuck?”
“Honestly, I don’t care how we do this, but the thought of you eating first just pisses me off.”
The bastard who never stopped complaining was suddenly acting all rational. Talking pure bullshit, as always.
“What’s your fucking problem now? I didn’t even say I was going first.”
“Oh, come on. You said that because you wanted to go first.”
“Guys, seriously? You’re fighting again? Just fucking stop….”
Lee Seon-kang sighed, rubbing his forehead in frustration.
Kim Woo-hyung flinched slightly at his reaction before clicking his tongue and turning away.
He was the one who started this shit, and now he was acting all patient by closing his eyes like he was restraining himself.
I wanted to shatter his cheekbone right then and there.
“You fucking bastard, you’ve been picking fights with me all day. What’s so goddamn wrong with me eating first?”
I shoved my face close to Kim Woo-hyung’s as I snapped at him.
I could feel Yoon Si-chan’s gaze on me.
A silent shut the fuck up.
I let out the biggest sigh I could and shut my mouth.
“Rock, paper, scissors.”
Yoon Si-chan placed the sandwich in the center and spoke.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
We played with only rock and paper, and the results were shit.
First: Kim Woo-hyung.
Second: Yoon Si-chan.
Third: Lee Seon-kang.
Fourth: Cha Min-seok.
And, of fucking course, I was dead last.
I had planned to take a massive bite and fuck them all over, but now, I’d be lucky if there was even a crumb left.
I wanted to bitch about it, but since Yoon Si-chan had made the decision, I couldn’t argue.
With my face twisted in frustration, I sat back down.
Kim Woo-hyung, looking noticeably more smug, was the first to eat.
He took a reasonable-sized bite and passed the sandwich to Yoon Si-chan.
Yoon Si-chan flipped it upside down before taking a bite.
I was curious to see how he’d eat, but he did it normally and handed it off.
Lee Seon-kang took a small bite and passed it over, and now, there was barely even half a piece left.
Cha Min-seok, gripping the sandwich, hesitated, his eyes darting nervously.
Then, suddenly—
The bastard opened his mouth wide and took a massive bite.
“Are you fucking serious, you piece of shit?”
A curse slipped out of my mouth before I could stop it.
Cha Min-seok, who had practically inhaled the sandwich, blinked at me with wide, innocent eyes, pretending he had no idea what he’d just done.
That precious strawberry cream sandwich was now just a crust of bread, indented with that bastard’s disgusting teeth marks, not a single trace of cream left.
I was so dumbfounded I couldn’t even speak.
And then, Yoon Si-chan, who had been watching the whole thing, lowered his head and let out a laugh.
That motherfucker.
If this had happened to him, he would’ve dissected Cha Min-seok’s corpse by now.
Realizing the situation, Cha Min-seok finally started panicking.
“Oh—shit, I’m sorry! I really am! I thought you already ate! I swear, I didn’t mean to—!”
“Cut the fucking bullshit. I saw you stuffing your fat mouth with it, asshole.”
“No, I—I was just starving! Ah, seriously, I’m really sorry….”
The rage I felt toward him wasn’t the same as what I’d felt for Yoon Si-chan or Kim Woo-hyung.
This wasn’t just annoying—I was about to explode.
There was half the damn sandwich left.
That fucker did it on purpose.
“Oh, you’re the only one who’s hungry? Spit it out, asshole. Spit it out.”
Since I didn’t get to eat, that bastard sure as hell wasn’t getting away with it either.
I stepped toward him, reaching to grab his jaw, but he stumbled backward, face pale with fear.
“Hey, chill. He said he didn’t know. Just eat something else later.”
Kim Woo-hyung stepped in, reaching out his hand to stop me, running his mouth as usual.
If I had done what Cha Min-seok just did, this bastard would be the first to start screeching about it.
“No, fuck that! I’m the only one who didn’t eat. Because of him!”
My voice rose in frustration.
Meanwhile, Yoon Si-chan, standing behind us, was still laughing his ass off like this was the funniest shit he’d ever seen.
It was pissing me off.
Cha Min-seok, still putting on his dumb innocent act, kept mumbling apologies—
while still chewing.
This fucker was still eating while pretending to be sorry.
I was going to make him spit it all back out.
If he swallowed it, I’d shove my hand down his throat and make him puke it up.
“Tae-jung, next time we eat, I’ll give you some of mine. Just calm down.”
Lee Seon-kang made a tempting offer, but right now, I didn’t give a fuck about getting bread.
I wanted to see that bastard starve.
“I don’t need your fucking pity. Just spit it out, you psycho.”
I stepped closer, but before I could grab him, Kim Woo-hyung seized my wrist.
“Enough already. Seon-kang said he’ll give you some.”
“I’ll give you mine too… I’m really sorry….”
Cha Min-seok, sensing his chance to escape, quickly looked between them like they were his fucking saviors.
Then, as if to wrap things up, he muttered his last apology and looked away.
“The fuck you will! You owe me, dumbass!”
Fury surged up, and I raised my fist—
Only for Kim Woo-hyung to grab both of my wrists, holding me back with force.
I kicked out hard toward Cha Min-seok, but the bastard had already pressed himself against the corner.
His wide, dumb eyes blinked a few times—
And then, right in front of me, he swallowed.
“Oh, you motherfucker!”
Lee Seon-kang jumped in, grabbing me from behind, his hands gripping my shoulders tightly.
I struggled against them, shouting, twisting my body to break free—
Then, with all my strength, I slammed my foot into Kim Woo-hyung’s shin.
“Ah, fuck—! Goddamn it…!”
Kim Woo-hyung grimaced, doubling over slightly from the kick to his shin. Then, lifting his head, he shot me a glare, his face hard with anger.
He let go of my wrist roughly, almost shoving me away, then immediately leaned forward like he was about to take a swing.
“What, you dumb fuck?”
“You hit me first.”
“And what the fuck are you gonna do about it?”
Behind me, Lee Seon-kang let out a heavy sigh, full of irritation.
“Just drop it already… He said he was sorry. I’ll give you my share.”
Still gripping my shoulder tightly, he sighed again, clearly exhausted.
Matching his tone, Kim Woo-hyung finally took a step back, turning his head to mutter under his breath.
“If it weren’t for that bastard….”
Fucking unbelievable.
I’m the one who got screwed over, and now he’s acting like he’s the victim?
“No, seriously, what the actual fu—”
“Woo Tae-jung.”
Just as I was about to go off again, Yoon Si-chan, who had been laughing at the whole mess, suddenly called my name.
I clenched my teeth and turned around, scowling.
“Shut up already.”
He waved his hand dismissively, like he couldn’t be bothered with the noise, then shifted his gaze to Cha Min-seok.
“You’re skipping the next meal.”
Cha Min-seok flinched.
When Yoon Si-chan nodded toward the tiny scrap of bread left on the wrapper, Cha Min-seok hesitated before mumbling, “Got it….”
If Yoon Si-chan had defended him, I would’ve kept running my mouth even if it got me punched.
But with that as the final decision, I had nothing left to say.
The bastard had already swallowed everything anyway, so all I could do was clench my fists in frustration.
Still, if I punched him hard enough in the gut, he’d probably puke it back up.
Holding back the impulse, I slumped against the desk.
Lee Seon-kang, seeing me settle down, finally let out a relieved breath, his shoulders sagging.
“…You not eating?”
Yoon Si-chan, still seated at the desk, slid the wrapper with the tiny scrap of bread toward me.
“You eating or not?”
Of course, I want to eat, you dumb fuck!
I wanted to yell that at him, but my stomach wanted food more than I wanted to be petty.
“I’ll toss it, then.”
The moment I hesitated, he moved to throw the scrap into the trash.
That fucking bastard.
I lunged forward and snatched the wrapper before he could.
“I’ll eat it, fuck.”
I shoved it into my mouth.
A faint taste of strawberries lingered.
That bastard Cha Min-seok had even eaten the strawberry chunks.
Thinking about it pissed me off again, but I held back, reminding myself—
I’ll kill Kim Woo-hyung and Cha Min-seok within the next two days.
Once everything settled down, Lee Seon-kang glanced at me, then silently put the remaining two pieces of bread back on top of the microwave.
And just like that, we were back to passing time in the most miserable way possible.
At first, we scrolled through news articles and checked YouTube, but when we decided to conserve the laptop’s battery, the room fell into silence.
The only sound left was the disgusting growling of the zombies outside the door.
I felt sick.
There was no way I could stay here for two days.
If there was even a single fucking window, I wouldn’t feel this trapped.
Being stuck in this cramped room with these pieces of shit, doing nothing but waiting, was unbearable.
And on top of that, time wasn’t making things better—it was only making them worse.
Frustrated, I leaned against the wall and closed my eyes, hoping to sleep.
But it was only 9 PM.
